Bit of background:

Been married for 2 years, just about to turn 36, friends all around me are announcing pregnancies every 2 minutes and DH and I have started discussing the possibility of maybe popping out a baby in the near future but.......how will I know if I'm ready for it or not?

I don't actively like children, but I am told by a few friends that they only like their own so that makes me feel better. We have a puppy who is a total child replacement, and I think we're both ready to take the next step but neither of us have those massive urges to have a child. It would be so much easier if one of us was definite in what we wanted, but we're both on the same page pretty much - we can't imagine not having children, but can't imagine NOT having them either. Plus I am very aware that my age may soon become an issue.

So all the Mums out there in Mumsland - did anyone NOT know for definite that they wanted a child and, if so, how did it work out for you??
