I'm new here (nervous wave). I have a 1yo girl and husband and I have been discussing ttc #2. We've spoken to family and friends.and they're all split into two camps of opinion, one half think it's great to have such a short age gap, the other think the complete opposite. Then there are those who think we shouldn't actively ttc and just let nature take its course.

How long did you leave ttc after #1? Grin

Hi and welcome christie!

Our DD was just over 2 when we agreed to go again (DH took some persuading), but for various reasons we didn't start until she was 2.5. To be fair I would have preferred an age gap of around the 3 year mark, but that ship has sailed, it will be at least 3.5 years now. I think 3 years would be perfect, still similar ages throughout their lives but not close enough to be direct competitors if you see what I mean? Also means that they are out of nappies and can feed and pretty much clothe themselves before the new one comes along! Anyone I know with an under 2 year age gap found it really really hard. As I read on here once, "3 is the lazy mum's gap". :) HTH!

I think just be thankful whatever way! Theres pros and cons of both, ideally I wanted 3yrs, but it's looking to be 5 now (but not for want of trying)

3 years means you have an 18th and a 21st in the same year!

Kp everything crossed for you. That's a very good point maybe two years wouldn't be so bad then lol xx
