LONG cycles

Anyone know why I would have 45-50 day cycles? I'm assuming there's nothing wrong because I conceived dd on cycle # 2 which would have been a 46 day cycle ( I know when I ovulate- usually about day 30!- but this was also confirmed by dating scan. LP is always 14 days exactly).
About to start ttc # 2 and feeling annoyed that this is the case. At best, I only have about 7 or 8 chances to conceive every year and have to wait much longer each cycle. And I don't even know why! Just hoping everything is ok and nothing is wrong.

Why do I ovulate so late though?

You may have PCOS. I have long cycles for that reason. But, tbh, it could be any number of things.

Have you ever seen a GP about it? I think advice is to see the GP if your cycle is longer than 45 days.

Good luck!

I don't have any other symptoms though. Periods totally normal, normal weight, no sign of any hormonal imbalance, conceived normally and quickly. Just assumed that this was normal for me. Is that not likely?

Thanks for the advice BTW!

I don't know. I think it could just be your cycle, but it could also be other things too.
I think if you did go to the GP, they would probably investigate further. But if you've already conceived and given birth I suppose it couldn't be anything really.

I suppose if it were me, I try for a couple of cycles and then think about it.

love your name btw. I always want to tell you when I see you around Smile

I don't think you have anything to worry about. 28 days is just an ideal, not a reality. Just bare in mind that for there to be average some will be below and some will be above - it's maths!
I'd give it 6 months ttc then see the doctor if nothing. I came off the pill over 2 years ago to ttc and my cycles still aren't regular even though they were fairly regular before bcp. I ovualte as late as day 25 some cycles and as early as day 14 others. all my ultrasounds, blood tests and HSG have come back fine. Different doesn't have to mean bad or wrong.
