Does anyone have any insite on this??? I am only 4 weeks preg but already I am having pain and spotting. This is my third preg and the past two were mc. I have a very bad feeling about this already. I went to the docs today and basically its a waiting game. I am booked for a scan on the 26th of April but I dont know what to do until then. I feel so depressed because I think its inevidable that this one is going to end up the same as the others...all of the symptoms are the same. Pain in the left ovary (sharp) and slight brown spotting yesterday...and today there was a little red. I just dont know what to think or do...

Melliek, that is just the best news, I am so pleased that you get to smile again. It must have been really scary and worrying for you to go through with the scan but just so pleased that you have got such excellent news from it. You must be delighted

Wow, you guys are all so awesome. The ongoing support is amazing. You have no idea how uplifting this is! I know that anything can happen still...its still pretty early in the game. I think once the 10 week mark comes i will be a little more comfy. The doc told me to keep me ultrasound for next week, which is good for me so I can be reasured! I just keep saying to my husband 'can you believe our little peanut has a heart beat!!!' We are both so shocked!!
I know that its not too often that someone gets a good outcome so just let me say how thankful I am that this has happened. I realize that it can still go either way, and I will handle it, but right now I am on cloud nine and I feel so blessed to have this little life actually alive inside of me.
Thank you so much everyone.....were else could a person ever feel like there are so many people standing behind you with a hand on your shoulder!

Well Ladies, just got back from scan #3 and there is still a heartbeat. I got to hear it this time which was really neat! The only thing that troubles me is that they measured it to be 6wks and 4 days and when I was in last mon they said it was 6 wks then. Can that just be the techs error in measurring??

OP posts:
emmatmg · 26/04/2004 20:50

That brilliant melliek.

As for the measurement, obviously I'm not a professional but I would think at your early stage it's quite dufficult to get a exact weeks/days measurement. Please don't worry, as the PG gets further on the 3 days difference in dates:measurement (between last monday and 6w4days today) will not be a problem.

It is lovely hearing the heart beat isn't it

emmatmg · 26/04/2004 20:52

just read that back to myself it it hardly makes any sense...........I hope you understand what I mean.

I 'm sure someone else will explain what I'm trying to say much better.

bunny2 · 26/04/2004 20:54

Very good news Melliek. I'm really pleased you have got past 6 weeks. I think the sizes can vary a bit. My consultant scans me every 2 weeks and he always gives a fetal age and adds "plus or minus 5 days".

melliek · 29/04/2004 14:57

Well Ladies, this is not a good note to post today. Went to the emerg yesterday with a light amount of red spotting...in fact it only spotted once. Did another ultrasound and there is no heartbeat and the fetus only measures 6 1/2 weeks when I should be 7 wks 3 days. So..my fears have come true. I was there yesterday for 10 hours waiting to see if I could get my d&c last night but they were too busy on the delivery floor. So now I am to go back on Sat and wait to see if they can squeeze me in because if I actually book one the waiting list is at the minimal 2 weeks and there is no way in hell that I am waiting that long. So, this chapter is almost closed...at least now I can do some testing to see what is going wrong. Right now I am just numb, not sad, not angry just numb.
I would like to thank everyone that has been so caring with your words and there for me along the way. The support that everyone gives is so strong and so nice.
Heres hoping that next time I will be luckier.

melliek, I am truly sorry that this pregnancy has not worked out for you. Thinking of you at this sad time. Big hugs.

Mum2Ela · 29/04/2004 15:03

melliek that is so sad. I hope things work out for you in the future.

miracleabie · 29/04/2004 16:16

melliek= I am so sorry this has happened to you. It happened to me too last October. Please look after yourself. I tended to keep people away in case they said something stupid. If possible take a bit of a holiday. I wish I had gone away with dh- even for a few days just to cuddle and cry.
I hope they were kind at the hospital and looked after you. Best wishes and lots of luck if you decide to go for it again.

Angeliz · 29/04/2004 16:17

melliek, sorry to hear that+++++
