Hello ladies, I got a lot of help from these boards so just wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone.
I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago after a year of no periods on the pill, via an ultrasound scan and bloods which revealed polycystic ovaries & a hormone imbalance (plus hypothyroidism which was great to get sorted). We weren't TTC then so I went on Yasmin and then Microgynon.
Fast forward a few years, age 30 and DH and I were TTC, but since stopping the pill in September I'd only had 1 period in November and 1 in January, and it was now May. My BMI was around 20 and I didn't have many other symptoms, but given my previous diagnosis I was referred to the fertility consultant and we were expecting to be in for the long haul. But I never made it! After someone on here (thank you!) recommended I look into Inositol I did some research and even my super sceptic scientist husband was impressed by the research studies and results. I started taking it and a few days later ovulated and conceived on day 120 of my cycle! I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and all is well so far. We feel incredibly lucky. I'm not sure that the Inositol could have had any effect in that space of time but the research results are pretty good, and I had never heard of it in the UK despite a LOT of googling about PCOS. So if you are TTC and not ovulating normally, it might be worth a go, although do seek help from your GP as well.
Anyway PCOS success stories always gave me some hope so I hope this or the Inositol research might help someone. Good luck fellow PCOS-ers
