so I came off the pill July 2013, first periods were 28 days, got gradually longer and settled at about 38 days. however, my last cycle was 53 days!!!

I'm currently on cd55... we've stopped ttc because it was driving me mad not understanding my own body and putting strain on our relationship. anyone got any ideas what's going on? I've googled and generally the advice is saying if you're periods become very close together then go to the docs, but it doesn't seem to say anything about this. hoping someone on here has some advice.

Hello, I came off the pill in Aug 13, had a withdrawal bleed and then...nothing. My next period was mid-October which lasted a week or so, and then my next period was mid-December which lasted a month to mid-Jan 2014! I was fobbed off with 'it's your body adjusting after the pill'...now here I am a year later having had first appointments for infertility issues as the GP/hosp think I have PCOS. Don't want to alarm you and it sounds as if you're at least having them more regularly than I did, but just keep an eye on things I'd suggest.

I heard that evening primrose oil was good for promoting regular cycles so that could be something to try...? Good luck!

thanks, I'll look into that.. I've wondered about pcos for a while. I don't just want to mention it straight out to the dr incase they think I've been on google and am suddenly an expert but up until recently I was ttc from Aug last year!

I took the pill for a few years about ten years ago and came off due to issues with the hormones and dry eyes. It took me just over a year to have any type of period at all which, according to my doctor, can be the case with some women. I'd definitely check it out with your doctor but it could just be your body adjusting.
