Gosh what a crazy day! Still no dtd though Sad dr officially diagnosed man flu! Lol. Not really he just said a virus like most of the population have had and coped with better then my dh. I couldn't help myself, I had to say, well now you're officially not unwell can we dtd? Angry I just can't summon any sympathy at all. I'm a heartless woman.

It's ds's birthday tomorrow and after spending 2 pointless hours in the gp waiting room, I missed my cake baking slot. So now I've got to get up super early and ice it. Have wrapped all presents single handedly. Got really bad ov pains! Very ouchy both sides. Alas no man to assist.

spinningirl10 · 19/09/2014 06:25

Morning Grin

Broody, you are deffo gonna get a bfp now you have all that work to do!

MrsE, I hope normal service will resume in your household now that MrE is not properly sick. Happy Birthday to your ds, good luck with the cake.

I'm now in the 2ww, dtd again last night, took some persuading but we got there in the end! Blueberry, I could have done with your pvc outfit I thinkWink

ChandlersFarang · 19/09/2014 06:35

Massive yay to the referendum result!! We totally are better together. Took advantage of my time difference here and watched the results roll in over brunch! Go Scotland for an amazing display of democracy. Turnout was awesome. Inspiring stuff!

Spinning - Fx for you, sounds like a good positive cycle with everything going right so far!!

Sunbathing I'm sorry to hear your diagnosis, but as we know, knowledge is power. You are a super organised lady so you will definitely have already worked out your options but make sure you talk it through with the doctors properly to get all the answers you need! And it's OK to feel a bit sad about the diagnosis even if it's a step forward for you. Smile

Sorry you've been suffering lately MrsE, sounds like life's been getting on top of you all in Extraordinary Towers! Glad you've not missed your egg though!! SmileSmile

CurlyJay19 · 19/09/2014 06:45

Good morning Ladies waves, I just did my daily OPK and I have to rush to work, so I will read back the thread later on in the day.

So, it's CD10 for me today and yesterday I had an expected 'low' on my monitor even though I have been having OV pains since CD7 this month. This morning I have tested 'peak' so I've gone from low-peak with no highs at all.

I was going to do the SMEP this month but it looks like the plan has gone out the window, although we BD 16th and yesterday. Oh, I received my softcups yesterday so for the heck of it I used it last night. Very easy to insert and never felt it again during the night. Took it out at about 3am as I had lots of cramps in my cervix and I suddenly felt very uncomfortable and 'full'. There was only a tiny amount left in it when I threw it in the bin. Quite impressed really Smile

Pikz · 19/09/2014 07:16

Curly lots of BD for you now!

MrsE get cycling and hope DH has recovered from man flu

Sunbathing I have no idea how it will effect me this time. I am giving it a year (jan) and then will start all the scans again. I just learnt through it all that anything is possible and there is so much they can do.

TerrysNo2 · 19/09/2014 07:36

Morning all!

Broody good luck with all that work! We did a full renovation last year - basically stripped the house which we had bought from an 80 year old who had lived (and smoked!) in the house for the last 30 years. We had to rewire, replaster, knock down a couple of walls, new everything. I tell people the only thing you can see which hasn't been done is the windows! It was great to do - if you want to ask me any questions PM me!

Ok sorry but Curly... what on earth is a softcup?? Confused

broodylicious · 19/09/2014 07:49

terrys, that's really kind of you to offer - I will very likely take you up on it! Our house had been in the same family since it was built in the late 1950s and has numerous original, odd fixtures and fittings but luckily the boiler and electrics are relatively new so a big cost avoided at least. It'll look great when it's done. I hope!

purple go for it, hun! It's really exciting to plan and discuss everything with all the building folk and send yourself mad with kitchen plans, interior design stuff and visiting endless showrooms for inspiration! Defo the more room the better for your kidlings arrive - our toddler has just as much stuff as dh and I combined ;) xx

spinningirl10 · 19/09/2014 08:08

Terry, a softcup is used for af but can also be used when ttc. You insert it after dtd and the idea is that it keeps the sperm close to the cervix. You can buy them from Amazon and some Boots shops. I use them now at ov time.

Thepurplegiraffe · 19/09/2014 09:18

Wish I could Broody, the current budget doesn't allow but maybe in the future.

Happy Friday everyone.

TerrysNo2 · 19/09/2014 09:20

spinning is it the same as a mooncup?? I've heard of them but am a bit intimidated by them!

spinningirl10 · 19/09/2014 09:45

I've never seen a moon cup so not sure. Softcups are not reuseable but same sort of thing as moon cup I think.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 19/09/2014 09:49

Mooncups are revolutionary! Honestly I thought they were a bit woo and only for mn Eco warriors! But they actually stop the pulsing I get with tampons. I am a complete convert. I just haven't found soft cups in boots. But I need them if I'm to stand a chance.

spinningirl10 · 19/09/2014 10:18

MrsE, I only once found themin Boots and I was away with dp for the weekend. Just bought some from Amazon, it's a big box.

Sunbathing, that sounds like a good plan and positive thinking can only be good!
I'm thinking positively this cycle and convinced myself I am pregnant at only 1dpoGrin

Morning all! just got stroppy with DH via text and he responded saying I was clearly due on and he was making himself scarce and playing golf all weekend. Charming!!Grin

I've been looking at softcups this morning (along with opks, thermometers and cough medicine) online. But sorry if tmi - but are they easy to take out? I'm also worried that they might give me thrush as I'm a bit prone. But would love to brave them as I do get a lot of "leakage" post dtd - sorry for the tmi! might check out the big boots near me and buy a box to work up the courage.

I completely agree re the knowledge is power - now I know I might have ov issues I am so glad I know and can tackle it. Some of our journeys will be longer, but we'll get there. I think your plan sounds very sensible sunbathing.

spinning sounds like you've had a good go this cycle! I'm convinced every month I'm pg haha. This is the first month I know I'm not due to my scan and it's oddly liberating. (I will admit to wondering early this week whether there was any chance I could defy my lack of ov this month and have a miracle pregnancy lol)

mrsE hope you dtd soon. No fixed means there is still time!

Aprilray · 19/09/2014 11:06

Sorry to hear about your adenomyosis Sunbathing, yay for all the positivity though!
I get my blood test results this afternoon, and even though the scan looked good and they said they would be surprised if my bloods showed anything I am still a little apprehensive.

My DH works for a company that has an office in London and an office in Scotland and apparently the Scottish office were cracking open the bubbly this morning! DH is Scottish and very happy with the result.

spinningirl10 · 19/09/2014 11:12

April, good luck with the results.

Sunbathing, it's nuts isn't it! I do feel this is the best effort we've made for a long time but I know it makes it harder if af arrives!

Genni, softcups are ok to get out, you kind of have to push down and hook it out with your finger!

TheProofIsInThePudding · 19/09/2014 11:13

I'm a big fan of the mooncup! I used to use pads because whenever I tried tampons they would leak, but pads always felt yucky. With my mooncup I do literally forget that I'm on when I've not got cramps. The advantage over soft cups is that it is reusable and lasts years - so much cheaper and better for the environment!

CD4 so not much happening!

I use a meluna cup which is just another make of a mooncup and also fully recommend them for use when the dreaded AF is around. Takes a few cycles to get used to it. Was thinking of using it when ttc also as I tend to lose most of it and I'm always on top when dtd.

Feeling very emotional at the moment. Was up in the early hours googling things. I reckon my dp has some sort of delayed ejaculation problem coz he really struggles to finish at least 50% of the time which didn't matter until ttc. It's getting me down coz I don't want to make him worse by getting annoyed at him but at the same time I want him to see it's a problem and get it sorted.
Sorry to moan on here I just don't know who else to moan at about this. I just can't see how I'm ever gonna get pregnant if we can't do it as often as possible. Technically we've done it as often as I wanted according to SMEP but only twice as he come through so to speak.
It's also very exhausting coz we try for ages to make it happen. I just don't know what to do anymore.

On a positive note I'm having a work away day at the zoo today so that's fun!! I'm usually quite a happy girl I promise.

Dozygirl · 19/09/2014 13:08

Ps sorry to hear about your adenomyosis sunbathing. On one has it's good to have an answer but it's also hard coz it's not an answer u want. Fingers crossed you'll be able to get pg naturally.
