Good luck april! When are you going?

lucie I paid to have mine done. I tried to have it done at the gp but when I phoned last week, they told me it was a 2 week wait for blood tests so would have missed this cycle and I don't want to waste anymore time. So I had it done at the fertility clinic.

xBlueberry88x · 15/09/2014 12:50

Afternoon ladies,

Sorry to every one over from the september bus!!

Welcome to the newbies!!

Kitty lovely to see you as always!!

Theproof you put me to shame I refuse to do anything on a sunday but make a roast lol id never do a 10 miles run haha

Ainet I would keep it simple at first folic acid is all you really need.

Chandlers lol at mystical shit hahaha

Genni fingers crossed you test comes back good! I used to hate blood tests but ive had so many since ttc im used to them now lol they always find my vein. Although once when I was in hospital they couldnt find my pulse with one of those finger sensors they use!

April Good luck with the appt

Always takes ages for me to get an appt at the gp but I have to say it was only a few weeks between gp and gynae app alot quicker than I thought.

My next gynae appt is next week and im so nervous im hoping that none of the tests found any problems.

Hello from beautiful deepest, darkest Devon! We are having a lovely time, and every time we venture out to somewhere with signal I save the whole thread down so I can catch up! (So all my comments are a day out of date I'm afraid!)

I've started my ClearBlue trial today, I'm not sure whether it is good to give me another stick to pee on!

Hello to all the new joiners, welcome Boosz.

Kitty so lovely that you are watching us. :) And Spotti too. How is everyone else on the an thread doing? Poly okay?

April love the new hair style! ;)

MrsE your ds sounds funny! :D

Spinning I love your efforts to tire out your student to avoid Star Trek. Did it work?

spinningirl10 · 15/09/2014 15:08

MrsG, it did work!! He was really tired, he ate dinner and then disappeared to his room, didn't see him till 11am Sunday morning. Think more long walks are requiredGrin
Pleased you're enjoying your holiday.

I had made a doctors appointment for Friday but have to work now so will have to rearrange. It's hard to plan when my hours change weekly!

secretreveleater · 15/09/2014 15:21

Good luck to everyone having fertility tests/help. It's almost unbelievable how many people need help or just have to try for a long time.
Until I was ttc #3 I had no idea how fertility works (I'm still a complete novice compared to most on here) I was completely oblivious to the ridiculously short window we actually have each cycle when conception is possible. I wish I was still in the dark about it all tbh. I find it quite stressful and there's so much pressure to time it right.
My DC1 & 2 were relatively easy to conceive, cycle 1 and cycle 3. DC 3 however was cycle 21. I am praying it doesn't take as long this time. I don't think I can keep going and dealing with the disappointment for that long again.
I have decided not to use opks or temps or anything really. Just lots of dtd and fx! That's the plan anyway. Wonder how long I can stick to it.....

impatienceisavirtue · 15/09/2014 16:27

secretreveleater I was exactly the same. I have kids already from a previous marriage and I was on contraception for them!!!

When DH and I decided to try for one together we both assumed as he also has kids from a previous marriage - one whilst on contraception and the other conceived in first month of ttc - that it would happen straight away. Ha ha. No.

Fourteen months later...still not happened.

Well it did, earlier this year. Got pregnant and MC almost straight away. Got pregnant with no period in between again... Mc again but later on at ten weeks. That was May and we hoped it would just happen again straight away. I'm due on in Wednesday and not pregnant again, FRER negative and geezo I've had enough now. It was fun for a few months and now it's taken over our whole lives. Everything is in limbo.

Like you I had no idea about ku cycles at all. Never tracked them to the point that it would take me ages to realise I was late as I just had a rough 'it's been about a month, hasn't it?' Idea of when I was due on. Now my life is an endless cycle of opks and hpts and GP trips and disappointment every 28 days. Beginning to feel like it'll never happen for us.

lucygooo · 15/09/2014 16:32

Hi ladies, I'm jumping on board from the September bus, cd4 here so all is quiet at the moment and I am feeling optimistic! Just come back from a lovely weekend with my girly friends, one is 4 months pregnant and looks so lovely with her little bump so I'm really hoping its my turn next!

Stats: lucygooo, 32, ttc#1, cycle 4, bfp due 11 October

Fx to everyone (now I'm going to go and read the thread so far!)

mistywillow17 · 15/09/2014 16:36

Hi, can I hop on please?

Stats: Mistywillow, 33, TTC#1, cycle 6, BFP due 1st October
I have decided that October is going to be the month it happens. I am using softcups for the first time, and there is also plenty of upside down cycling happening.

Spotti · 15/09/2014 17:11

MrsE - nope, just the one! (We made them check :p). 'Tis a very wriggly one though who likes to use up all of the available space...one of my scan photos is actually of Squidge at full stretch. I'm expecting to be kicked quite a lot once space starts to become tight as it looks like my LO has rather long legs for something so tiny (and if baby is anything like it's dad, I'll be pushed into a corner while they have all of the bed!!!)

Aprilray · 15/09/2014 17:16

Why thank you MrsG Smile it is looking a bit bouffant like today, didn’t have the patience to spend ages blow drying it like my hairdresser did… Glad you’re having a lovely time in Devon

Genni would you believe he didn’t actually notice straight away! Came in, kissed me hello and asked how my evening had been before reacting! Luckily he likes it Smile your evening out sounds lovely. We need to make the most of these evenings while we can. I’m a Londoner, would love to know the ice cream place!

Had my tests this morning. I was a bit naïve and didn’t realise it was going to be internal!! There was a massive screen and could see my uterus and ovaries. I thought the first time I saw that there would be a baby in there but was very empty. The good news is that all looks good apparently. Oddly one ovary is a lot bigger than the other. Get my blood test results on Friday (managed not to faint!). Provided all is ok the next stage is to check my tubes for blockages but he advised me to wait another few months.

A big hello to everyone who has jumped on over the last few days.

Chandlers I love the fact that Halloween is a great fancy dress opportunity, last year I managed to pull together a really cool pumpkin outfit from the 99p shop (complete with flashing lights!) Hoping I’ll have a little one to dress by next Halloween!

mzzzf · 15/09/2014 17:50

Mystic sht has been booked ladies! I'm going to try reflexology tomorrow afternoon Grin

Had very odd yet very intense abdo cramps yesterday evening. Wondered briefly if AF might arrive but she hasn't so far. Got yo do a HPT tomorrow before the touchy-foot appointment, already know it'll be a bfn but pleased I'm doing something additional to try and help. We shall see!!!

Aprilray · 15/09/2014 18:58

You won't regret it Mzzzf I've heard great things. I have acupuncture and Chinese herbs and love them. AF treats me much better now and hopefully my BFP is just around the corner.

Any news yet Genni?

Forgot to say before. On account of not being prepared for an internal scan things down there weren't as neat and tidy as I'd like Blush mortified!

secretreveleater · 15/09/2014 19:05

impatience it really does take over your whole life especially when it has happened so easily before. DC 3 is 18 months now and of course worth all the waiting and heartache but my goodness I hope it happens a bit easier this time round. I'm so sorry you've suffered losses, hopefully you'll get a sticky bean really really soon.

april I'm pleased your tests look ok so far and we'll done for not fainting !

mzzzf I know a couple of people who got their long awaited bfps after a couple of rounds of reflexology so fx it helps you too. The thought of someone touching my feet makes my teeth itch so not sure I could do it! Might give it a try if I get a few months down the line with no bfp.

lucieloos · 15/09/2014 19:08

That's brilliant news about your scan April I'm glad everything is ok. I have mine booked in now for 6th October. I had to check with her as I also don't know much about it and wasn't sure if it would be internal or not but apparently it will! They have said that it can be done at any stage in my cycle but what if by some miracle I did happen to be pregnant by then could it harm the baby all that probing about inside? I don't won't them to dislodge anything?!

Ahh ok thanks sunbathing, I know it's probably a silly question but just something I was really unsure about and don't want to make a fool of myself at the clinic Smile

spinningirl10 · 15/09/2014 20:07

Mzzzf, enjoy the reflexology, fx it works for you.

April, good news on the scan.

lucieloos · 15/09/2014 20:43

DH is out tonight and I'm off for a nice hot bath and to listen to my new zita west cd which is all about relaxation and positive visualisation! Will let you know if it's any good Smile

mzzzf · 15/09/2014 21:08

I'll keep you ladies posted and report back tomorrow!

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/09/2014 22:02

Hi all, can I join? I was on the may bus but I have just had a mc so back to square one. As soon as that is all over though we want to try again so I think that puts me on this bus although I won't have a clue about dates for a while.
I am 36 and if successful this would be dc 2.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/09/2014 22:26

Hello purplegiraffe, I'm so sorry you've had such a difficult time and such a sad loss. Fx this is a short journey this time around with a healthy pregnancy before too long.

TheProofIsInThePudding · 15/09/2014 22:47

I have great respect for all the ladies having blood tests. Somehow I have got to almost 30 without ever needing one, but the idea totally freaks me out. I am not looking forward to having to have them when pregnant.

Ainat - I'm very impatient too. I'm still waiting for AF to show up (due several days ago) so we can be on CD1 of cycle #1.

I've just started reading Expecting Better and it seems like my kind of book. I like to know the facts and reasons behind the advice given, so I'm enjoying it so far. It's perhaps a bit over-conversational in tone, but that probably makes it more accessible for a wider audience, which is a good thing. I'd recommend it.

Hi sunbathing that's really interesting hearing you say that. I think I've only ever had sussessful pgs from my right too. My left ovary is very painful and from an internal scan I've been told my left ovary is very difficult to find, very high and a large blood vessel runs in front and through it obscuring it on a scan. I tend to ovulate a lot later on my left too. My right ovary tends to behave itself and stick to 28 days but recently it's all been painful On the left month after month. This month though my right is niggling away! Whoopee ! Hope this month is your lucky month too sunbathing.
