Hi everyone,
Noobie to this forum malarkey! I'm 28 in a 12 year relationship and very excited as we have just decided to try for our first baby! Have been on BCP for 12 years and stopping as of today! Anyone else in the same position? Grin

Hello, we are also trying for baby number one. I am 32 and have been married for almost a year and been with my OH for 3 years.

Came off Yasmin at New Year and started trying at the end of March. Now on Cycle 6 CD19. DH has had a sperm test and that wasn't good, but we are hoping that's something that can be improved. Hoping for a little miracle this month.

Good luck to you and your OH. Baby dust.

Mswatzername · 26/08/2014 09:34

Good luck to you too!

Hi watzername

Welcome! I'm also a newbie, have only been on here for a few weeks. I'm 34 and OH is 31, we decided at the end of June to start trying for baby #1 so am currently at the end of cycle #1.

I had been on Mercilon for the past 14 years but took my last one on 27th of July and started my prenatal vitamins the next day. The first few weeks weren't great (abdominal cramping, bloating and headaches) but my body has settled down now.

I had my breakthrough bleed when I stopped the pill and have been DTD every other day. My AF before BCP were very regular but I am now on CD31 and still no sign of AF so I may take a test this weekend. I am not holding out too much hope as I think it may just take a few cycles for AF to settle down.

It's all very exciting and I can't seem to read/watch enough on pregnancy/babies now ha ha ha!

Mswatzername · 26/08/2014 10:18

I know I am ridiculously excited already! I am sure a lot of you experienced mums will be rolling your eyes right now it I can't help it! Am going to start vitamins today x

I'm also TTC baby #1. Am 31, have been married a year and we decided to try July so am on cycle 2.

Have started taking vitamins and trying to be calm and natural about it at least to begin with!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 26/08/2014 12:21

Hello, me too. Quite excited to tell someone about it! I'm 31, came off the pill in June but wanted to have one 'normal' period before trying, which I did mid August so all systems go! Biggest barrier is that DH is working away during the week at the moment, but that does mean nice weekends in bed...

teeniedeenie34 · 26/08/2014 12:28

How long was your first cycles Heir, Gem and Sue? Ie. How many days from the day you stopped taking your pill to the first day of your first 'normal' period? I'm just interested as some women just spring back into regular 28 day cycles and some have cycles that are over 50 days long! I'm currently on CD31 and no sign of AF yet...

Gemerama82 · 26/08/2014 12:31

First one was about 26 days. They have varied between 25 - 31 days since I came off the pill but I think have started to settle at 28/29 days over last couple of months.

SueBridehead · 26/08/2014 13:10

Mine was 34 days, i hope it becomes shorter as it really seemed to drag last month!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 26/08/2014 15:38

29 days last time, so almost bang on average! It's hard though as I've been taking either the pill or had an implant constantly for over 10 years - hard to get your head round it all being ok after so long trying very hard not to fall pregnant in my carefree younger days!

teeniedeenie34 · 26/08/2014 15:54

Thanks ladies, it's just interesting to compare and after 14 years on BCP I'm not sure what to expect. I guess if no AF by the weekend I should test.

Would definitely agree Sue 34 days is almost an extra week!

SmileyScooby · 26/08/2014 16:00

Hi ladies, I'm also 31, have been off Rigevidion since January (prior to that was on Microgynon for about 10 years before they decided it was cheaper or something to give me Rigevidion) and we are sort of seeing what happens (so to not get stressed...although now it is all I am thinking about!!!) for baby no 1. But I've been monitoring my periods, taking seven seas 'trying for a baby' vitamin thingys and also using Fertility Friend to track etc. This month I hope we've been lucky as both been more relaxed and things seem to have happened at the right times wink hehe My period due around 4th September so have got my fingers and toes crossed

teeniedeenie34 · 27/08/2014 14:41

A little update from me today... CD32, either AF is about to start or I am having implantation bleeding. I did feel lots of weird pressure 'down there' last night though, felt a little like wind. Dunno if that's relevant but I guess I'll know in a few hours.

Mrsk0305 · 27/08/2014 14:49

Hi Everyone, am new to Mumsnet but enjoying reading through all discussion as, like some of you have mentioned, it makes me feel better knowing other people are in similar situations.
Myself (28) and hubby (31) have been TTC since May 2013. I have PCOS and very random periods but I started tracking them and there is a shorter pattern emerging, except last time we went back to square 1, of a 112 day cycle instead of the more normal (for me) 45-60day cycle. Annoying. Anyway we have an appointment with local NHS fertility clinic next month just to see what they are saying.
Meantime I'm hoping we are successful in conceiving...not asking for much am I?
Main reason for this post is, the last few days I have been feeling very tired (could be down to a very good but hectic weekend away in London with some girlfriends) I am experiencing some lightheaded/dizziness whilst sitting doing nothing or moving about, bit of a sore head but the dizziness bothering me more, and today have developed a wee bit of a sore lower back. Oh and I am VERY irritable. Looking through some articles these COULD be symptoms but just wondered if anyone else had felt the dizziness thing and could relate. If I am pg I think it's too early to test.
Thanks for reading
Laura x

SmileyScooby · 28/08/2014 20:35

Hi to all who've joined the last couple of days. Glad to hear hubby is better ruby. Our plans were also put on hold a couple of years ago as I had VIN 3 and needed an op so we waited until drs said was good to go etc :)

Currently on CD23 of a 28/29/30 cycle and am symptom spotting like mad and resisting the urge to poas (just!!) am still getting over a cold so think some of the pains I'm feeling might be coughing related :(

rubyrubes13 · 28/08/2014 20:53

The 2 week wait I know that well you have keep yourself occupied at all times to resist the urge
