Good News Stories Please!

Looking for some 'good news stories' to give us hope. Only been TTC for 5 months (on cycle 6), but because DH had surgery on his testicles in the past, we had a sperm test done to 'put our minds at rest'. Unfortunately we got the bad news that his sperm concentration was 7 million (should be at least 16 million) and 100% abnormalities.

He barely drinks alcohol (between 0 - 10 units a week, often nothing), has never smoked or taken any drugs, he is active and eats a fairly healthy diet and has a BMI of around 24.

He has:

  • cut out baths
  • radically reduced his caffeine intake from about 10 cups of tea a day to 2 or 3
  • increased his fruit and veg intake
  • started taking Wellman Vitamins.

We had been DTD every other day in the mid 2 weeks of my cycle, but we have now reduced this to every 3 days as I have read online that this is better with a low sperm count. Anyone else heard this?

Anyway, obviously we are hoping it was a randomly bad sample and not an actual problem. Assuming I don't fall pregnant in the meantime he is due for a second sperm test at the end of October.

Does anyone have any stories of sperm count and level of abnormalities improving over time and if so what did your OH do in order to improve his sample?
