how much are you drinking when TTC?

I'm TTC no: 3. All the advice seems to be not to drink any alcohol at all. But bearing in mind I am a bit older, and TTC could take a while, I am finding it impossible to be teetotal on a just-in-case basis. Especially as it might not happen at all. (Though the first two were very easy).

I'm not a hardened drinker at all. But I seem to be averaging 3-6 units a week. (Have had a few birthday parties to go to recently).

What are you all doing?

I dont drink much at all and atm Im just thinking about ttc but Id say as long as you rnt having loads a couple of glasses of wine should be fine.

After my first month of not drinking whilst TTC I admit it is tough. I imagine a few glasses are fine, but I'm an all or nothing person and don't want to feel guilty later or question whether I should have had a drink.
As I previously enjoyed a drink an annoying side effect is that people out 2 and 2 together and realise we're trying. I've even resorted to buying grape juice for when my Mum visits so she doesn't realise.

lol at the grape juice. I too am not keen for people to know am I ttc...

Yes it is difficult to hide. My mum is coming on Sunday, the same day I could get BFP or AF so that should decide whether the grape juice comes out!

I was told it is more important for the man not to drink, it can affect his sperm count, so too can hot baths, caffeine and tight pants!

I was TTC for two years, almost gave up on the idea and I'm now 3 days past my due date! Work that back and I conceived over Christmas and New Year. Needless to say, I was drinking... so was DH!

Yes I have been actively encouraging dh to cut down which he has been very good about. It helps avoid brewers droop, slow swimming sperm etc. It is hard though as there's quite a drinking culture in his company and the city. Annoyingly I could really fancy a beer right know
