Progesterone test result..

So I had my surge on opk yesterday so had my blood test to check progesterone level - it has come back as less than 1 - to have it repeated next Monday but I'm just gutted.. Doc said only hope now is a referral to the infertility clinic ð???

Anyone i same boat with test results ?

It sounds like you had the test at completely the wrong time. The surge suggests you will ovulate in the next day or two. The progesterone test should try to catch the peak, roughly 7 days after ovulation. So your blood was taken about a week too early.

What day in the cycle was this test actually done?.

It was done on day 18 which was the day I got the surge on opk at the doctors request , but will be repeated next Monday which will be 7 days from surge? So confused - the doc said that at under 1 it was hopeless ? X

eurochick is right, test should be done 7 days after ovulation surge - gives the correct result to see if you have ovulated. best of luck. x

Without knowing the ins and outs of your cycle, 8-9 days after a positive OPK is probably the best time to catch the peak. Your dr doesn't sound like he knows much about fertility...

My cycles are usually 32 days normally I get positive opk 18/19 today I'm on day 19 and blood was taken yest , dtd cd14, 17,18 and will tonight and each day until fri/sat , I said to her last week was it not 7 days after "ovulation" and she said no we will detect progesterone when your tests do, so disheartened but I'm figuring I'm not out until af so gonna keep at it until I feel I'm safely out of the zone x

opks detect LH, not progesterone...

Thanks euro chick do clearly my doctor has not a scooby about fertility honestly so annoying I was just listening up everything she said because she's the expert well I will wait abs see what next weeks reading is meantime were dtd every night in case
