After implant removal

Hi! In need of some advice :) me and my partner are eager to start a family so I had the implant removed 11 days ago. We haven't been using contraception from the day it was removed. But it's been 11 days now and I still haven't had a period yet! I have taken a pregnancy test but it has come back negative (and I was a bit too naive to think I could be that lucky so quick.) my periods haven't always been regular, but when I was on the pill they would always come 4 days after I stopped taking them. On the implant they were few and far between. Since it's removal I had a slight feeling that they were coming and had the absolutely tiniest of shows for a day then nothing since?

Hi Becca! I had my implant removed on 08 July and still no AF (6 wks today) but I don't think that's unusual, from reading other people's experiences it can take a while. Apparently you could ovulate a couple of wks after it is removed though. Fx!!

Wow 6 weeks?? I'd be pulling my hair out! I'm so impatient.lol doesn't help that everyone around me is falling pregnant! It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only one so thanks! As I'm so irregular I was thinking of buying ovulation kits. Any suggestions?x

Hiya, I had mine out in april and although my periods came back after about a month ( I had several bleeds every two weeks after removal) they are really really light, from what I've read the implant stops you ovulating and thins the lining of the uterus so, after you have it out (especially if you've had it in for a while like me) unfortunately I think it just takes time for your body to get used to producing the hormones on its own, which is frustrating but i think patience is the key - hope this helps Smile xx

I had my first period 27 days after removal and ovulated on day 15 of my next cycle.(used a clear blue fertility monitor and Tesco ovulation test strips to confirm this). Don't think there's a one size fits all answer unfortunately. If I have a 27/28 day cycle then AF is due next weds....fingers crossed it won't arrive!!
