Checking cervix position

There is going to be a bit of detail in this so look away if it's going to be TMI for you...

We've been ttc #2 for some time now. I had been just cm checking and using OPKs to monitor ovulation but last month I decided to give full on chatting a go. So, I've been diligently temping as well as the above. I also started trying to check my cervix but am not finding it very easy to find! I initially couldn't find it at all but I now am managing to locate it in certain positions if I "push" (like trying to go to the toilet) but it seems to be a bit tucked away up in a corner to one side. Is it normal for it to be more to one side? Does anyone know if this could be playing a part in how long it's taking us to conceive? Is it normal for it to rise beyond reach at ovulation time? I hope that hasn't conjured up too many images for anyone Blush

I went for a smear last year and nurse mentioned this to me so nothing to worry about Smile

I haven't yet tried to find my cervix but I do know that I apparently have an 'inverted' uterus and my cervix is so high the doctors and nurses had a bit of trouble getting to it for smears! I would say you are perfectly normal x

chickadee87 · 17/08/2014 18:18

I mean retroverted uterus not inverted, blimey then it WOULD be difficult to get pregnant!

bessie I just looked at that website... Shock
Very graphic but informative, thanks for sharing. Those ladies on that site are braver than me.

bessie84 · 17/08/2014 19:37

braver than me too! lol. intersting and informative, but yes, VERY graphic. :-/

It made me realise the cervix is very ugly but also very busy all the time.

Thanks for the comments, I'm reassured that all is normal down there now! Bessie, that is a pretty graphic website but very educational.

I haven't been brave enough to look at the cervix website! Seeing my own during a colposcopy was enough. Incacola I'm glad you're feeling reassured.
