Hi all
I had medical management of miscarriage on 13th July this year.
I think I am having my first period, started Tuesday afternoon.
I had "normal" amount for me on Tuesday, yesterday was very very heavy with severe cramps. Worse than when I was in hospital for medical management.
Today I have just been spotting and still have severe cramps.
Is this normal for first period?
Thanks in advance x

Watching this as I'm also waiting for mine. Had a mmc on 14th of July and no sign of mine yet.

Good luck and plenty of virtual hugs, sorry I have nothing useful to add

And yours, it's so bloody hard isn't it! in ways I didn't expect as well.

I didn't think that seeing the negative test or waiting for my period would be so hard. I thought I had my head round it and had delt with it but there seems to always be another things to get over and another thing to drag it out :(

Hope you have some RL support as well as mn (although often MN is more useful!) x

Hi Anon, I had a miscarriage in April. My first period in May was very heavy and went on for longer than normal. I don't think my cramps were any more severe.

I'm sorry for your loss. Flowers

Hi, sorry you are going through this. I had a MMC last year and what you are describing sounds normal to me. You don't say how many weeks you were so I am assuming 12? My first few afterwards were very heavy and painful (don't normally bother me). Took me about 6 months before my periods seemed to settle. Did you have a scan afterwards to check for any retained tissue? Ask for one if you are worried. I didn't have one and ended up in A&E two weeks after my miscarriage with a huge loss of blood but I could tell that was different - flooding that wouldn't stop and went through my clothes. See how your next period goes, the first one is still your body trying to right itself. Best of luck X
