Here, we go, nice new thread.
Might be helpful to have some stats so we know where we all are?

I will start, farfallarocks - TTC#2, cycle 11. 1st brooking baby DD, 21 months. Investigations reveal high FSH and potentially starting IVF.

Lovely to see you Solars!!! Bless little A. We co-sleep now, so much easier than getting out of bed every hour Wink

How you doing Far? Are you a PUPO?! Like Keep, I only found in uncomfy as I needed a wee so badly. And I was so worried that when I had a wee, the embie would fall out Blush

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 22/11/2014 11:50

Hi everyone! Long time no see! So sorry for my long absence.

Just wanted to say to Far well done on getting to ET and hopefully you are PUPO by now! I have had day 2, 3 and 5 transfers and will echo what everyone else has said. When you have fewer embryos there is no benefit at leaving them any longer. They are best back inside of you getting comfy. I have met plenty of people along this journey who have had success with day 2 and 3 transfers xxx

As for me I am indeed diffed, sorry for not updating you guys. I always intended to come back on here but I kind of got superstitious about it and kept putting it off. I had my 3rd ivf cycle in September and I didn't come back on to mn until after my BFP. As you can imagine I felt it was too good to be true and didn't want to jinx myself by posting on here. Anyway I am now 10 weeks tomorrow. I know I've still got a long way to go until it will feel real, we had a private scan this morning baby is measuring 10 weeks and was moving around. DH was in tears bless him.

I'm off to wedding now but will try to read the thread and catch up with how everyone is doing soon x

Pastamancer · 22/11/2014 12:14

That's fab news Cups, we are a bit lacking for preggos at the moment in here.

keepitgoing · 22/11/2014 12:27

cups that's wonderful news Grin congratulations!!! was it at your same clinic or did you swap? did they do anything different or do you think it's just a numbers thing? we are brooking for you even if you're not here. aw I'm so happy for you xx

hope it went OK far brook brook

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 22/11/2014 12:37

Thanks Keep and Pasta

Congratulations Pasta on baby 2, I guess you must be quite far along now?

Yeah Keep we had our 3rd cycle at care, the treatment was miles ahead of last clinic. We had level 1 immunes which were all normal. I stimmed for a bit longer as they are very keen on shape of follicles as well as size there. We got 7 mature eggs and got 100% fertilisation (compared to 50% on other cycles). We also used embryoscope and glue. The embryoscope really helped as it was our average quality embryo that got put back in the end as by using time lapse imaging they identified that as the "best" quality embryo. We had better looking embryos that didn't get used as they divided at the wrong times etc... I truly believe this made a big difference. I would really recommend them as I really felt we were treated as individuals and the consultant was very willing to think outside the box.

We are meant to be on the way to this wedding but DHS is still faffing about his outfit! Men!

Pastamancer · 22/11/2014 13:08

I'm 25 weeks now

keepitgoing · 22/11/2014 13:47

that's so interesting cups on the embryoscope! your other clinic was shocking in many ways; I'm so glad you got better treatment, and of course that it worked! have you been discharged back to 'normal' care now? when's your 12 week scan so I can brook effectively? good luck hiding your non-boozing today Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/11/2014 14:55

Oh Cups, I've said it before but I'll say it again, I'm so chuffed for you both!! So pleased today's scan went well. I swear men take longer than us to sort themselves out Wink x

farfallarocks · 22/11/2014 19:57

Hello brookers!!!
I am officially pupo with 2 embies. They were described as average quality at 2/3 and one was a 2 cell and the other a 3. I know the chances of success are pretty slim but we have done all we can now really and I was pleased to make it to et!! Taking it easy now.

Cup that is so interesting on the embryo that made it and I am sooo happy to read your news, whoop!!

Hi solars good to see you fellow Argc er! Hope you are enjoying N.
Hi to keep, maybe and pasta hope you are having a nice Saturday evening!

Oh cups, that is fantastic news!

Far, I am brooking for you and the twins!

Imps, you are positively glowing!

Keep, I hope you can get past the red tape and get your frosties back.

I'm not great at keeping up with the thread these days, but I do think of you all and brook for you often Flowers

farfallarocks · 22/11/2014 19:59

Generic!! How are you my lovely? X

OP posts:
GenericDietCola · 22/11/2014 20:11

Far, I am really well thanks! Make sure you rest, you PUPO you!

keepitgoing · 22/11/2014 21:28

ooh congratulations far Smile I think little is known of embryo quality - look at cups' experience. you are pupo, and in with a great chance, especially with all this brooking behind you. is is 12 days to otd then?

hi solars!

ScrambledSmegs · 23/11/2014 21:19

Oh, Cups! That's so, SO wonderful!!!

Keeping everything crossed for you, Far. I have cramp in my left foot like you wouldn't believe, but it's worth it Wink.

to everyone else. I have caught something grim from a children's party yesterday, sorry that I've missed so many of you out but I really have to get back to malingering on the sofa. I'm still brooking hard for you all.

Imps9 · 24/11/2014 12:35

Ooooooh oooooooh Cups!!!!! I am so thrilled that all is well at 10 weeks! I am sure you must be feeling cautious...although would you have any objections to a celebratory display? I've been practicing a few moves...

And hello to all you other Brookers! Hurrah for a well-deserved BFP encouraging you all out to say hello :) Hope everything is tip top with all of you and that you recover quickly from your bug.

Far how are the twinz today? Feeling any different? Any cramps or other symptoms?? Hoping you're not feeling too stressy about it.

Cups your info about the successful cycle is so useful - I'll make sure I ask about all this stuff at out IVF appt in 2 weeks. Are there any key questions I should ask or any particular issues I should challenge them on? Am so clueless about the process and it simply wouldn't have occurred to ask how they assess which are likely to be the best embies for transfer etc. Maybe did Bourn Hall use things like glue and assess shape/division of embies etc?

Having a tricky day of meetings today but at least it's stopped raining I suppose. What did you all get up to at the weekend?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/11/2014 19:19

When I had my treatment, they didn't have the embryoscope, but they do now. I'm not sure if us available to NHS patients or not though. Glue was never mentioned. I think that your first cycle has to be seen as a bit of an experiment, for want of a better word. They don't know how your body will respond to everything. Well worth having lots if questions to ask, they'll be more than happy to answer them all for you.

Ooh, stats eh Far!!

Maybe, would love to be TTC #2, but will have to live vicariously through all you lot Wink

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 25/11/2014 11:03

Cups I am so so so happy for you,I will have a good read back and a catch up with everyone asap!

farfallarocks · 25/11/2014 11:49

Thanks smegs

keep OTD is 5th Dec which is 15 after egg collection. I will of course be tempted to test early and I have a work xmas party on 4th and if its a bfn I want to get wasted and probably start crying on someone inappropriate have a glass of wine.

I am back at work. I have found waiting around at home unbearable and find it easier mentally to be at work but my mother thinks I am nuts and that I am ruining our chances! hmmmmmm

imps bourn hall is meant to be excellent, yay! I think embryoscope is useful if you have loads of embryos so they can assess which ones are progressing.

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 25/11/2014 12:41

I think you should get a good result on the 4th far; I'd probably test early. just remember that any symptoms you have or don't have are unreliable because of all the drugs, are you on the fanny candles Grin ? gosh it's all so hard. I'm brooking for you like mad

a big kiss to cups though from a distance as we are plagued by a nasty cough at the moment

farfallarocks · 25/11/2014 13:19

Thanks keep I am on aspirin, pred (Steroid) and clexane twice a day. I was on fanny candles and now on the dreaded progesterone injections! I have a history of low progesterone so they don't want to take any chances!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 25/11/2014 17:39

Thanks again for the congratulations everyone. So nice to see some of the 'old' Brookers Grin waves to Solars, Boo, Gen and Smegs. I think I'm still in denial at the minute, maybe I'll start believing it when I have to give birth Shock

Imps I would love one of your amazing gymnastic displays but can I wait until the 12 weeks scan? I'm hoping if that's ok I will relax. It so exciting you've got your ivf appointment coming up. I would say try not to worry too much about this first go as its all a bit of an experiment as they don't know how you will respond. As you are young and healthy with no known problems and male factor I would say you have a very good chance of success. We were unexplained (we did have a misdiagnosis of male factor for a while, DHs stuff was actually in the normal range). After 2 rubbish cycles I was classed as a poor responder and was told to consider DE. I was told by my consultant that if you are under 35 with no known problems then poor response is actually really rare. So I am really hopeful all will go well for you. It might be worth asking what your AMH (egg reserve) and AFC (antral follicle count) is if they've tested that as that might give you an indication of how they think you will respond. AMH is a blood test, it's not done everywhere as a lot of doctors think its a load of rubbish and AFC is the number of follicles you have at the start of your cycle which they check by scan. I've heard very good things about Bourn hall so I'm sure you will be in very good hands.

Far are you on the Gestone injections? I've only ever had to take the evil bum bullets. I'm suffering a bit with them now so I'm looking forward to stopping at 12 weeks.

AFM im absolutely shattered all the time and I'm either nauseous or constantly hungry. I'm not complaining though, Im willing to put up with anything as long as I get my baby at th end. Still waiting for my scan date as well, can't wait to get past the 12 week mark.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 26/11/2014 12:02

So pleased you're doing ok Cups. You will start to relax a little after the 12 week mark. I think seeing a heartbeat at 10 weeks means the risk if anything going wrong is the same as 12 weeks. I used to cling on to that Wink

Imps, Bourn hall take the measurements Cups is talking about. They did all that at my first appointment

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/11/2014 11:07

Glad to hear things are moving along nicely Cups, starving and nauseous sound perfectly normal Wink Maybe is right, there is a theory that if you see a heartbeat from about 7 weeks it reduces the chances of problems by something like 95+% I can't wait for news from your 12 week scan :)

farfallarocks · 27/11/2014 14:26

cups hang in there you are almost at 12 weeks but boo is tight, its actually 9 weeks that is the big milestone in terms of viability, once you see a heartbeat at that stage the odds are the same as at 12 weeks.

I had bleeding gums this morning, oh errr, let the symptom spotting begin!

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 27/11/2014 17:21

Yay for symptoms Far. In the nicest possible way I hope you feel rough soon Wink
