Here, we go, nice new thread.
Might be helpful to have some stats so we know where we all are?

I will start, farfallarocks - TTC#2, cycle 11. 1st brooking baby DD, 21 months. Investigations reveal high FSH and potentially starting IVF.

Imps yes to pant snot

Hello all other brookers, hope you are all well x

cartoontrickster · 14/10/2014 07:26

congratulations dino sounds like a nice sneeze birth. lovely name too. Thanks hope you are all well.
yes they took a pic of him with them on, it was lovely I didn't know they did that.

Stacks · 14/10/2014 18:58

Hello. Will try and catch up a bit soon, have grizzly baby just now :(

Imps9 · 16/10/2014 07:01

Checking in quickly for news of Musical and to say a huge "hello" to Stacks and everyone else!

Back later :)

musicalmrs · 16/10/2014 11:39

Hurrah for pantsnot Imps!

Sorry to have not posted, I've not been online much (other than to work, rubbish!) and my mobile app seems to be very buggy at the moment.

Musicalbaby arrived just before Dinobaby, on Wed 8th! A brooking baby boy, who quite swiftly made his appearance in the middle of the night, in a birthing pool in the middle of our kitchen Grin. DD slept through it, hurrah!

Registered him yesterday, so he's now a proper little person :)

Cartoon, baby shoes are just so cute aren't they? :) Toddler shoes are quite nice too, need to go out and get some more for DD later (feet growing too quickly!).

Dino, very impressed by The Male Judge answering your question Grin (and a good question it was too, DH was wondering the same thing so was very pleased you'd asked and it had been answered!).

Imps9 · 17/10/2014 07:08

Oooooooooh Musical I completely missed that - sorry!! Congrats lovely - another sneeze birth - excellent :) Hope you're all settling in nicely.

Got appt for first meeting at the IVF clinic - squeeeee! Annoyingly it's for when we're on holiday, but no matter. It's all moving along nicely, hurrah.

Far what's the news with your odd cycle?

Imps9 · 17/10/2014 11:51

Wow - was supposed to be having my 12 week scan on 4 Nov - just found out that my dad will be having surgery to remove a cancerous growth on that day. Funny how a date can go from potentially joyous to definitely fucking awful just like that. Pah.

Stacks · 17/10/2014 18:55

So sorry to hear that imps, sounds like a truly awful day coming up for you. I wish there was a way to make it better somehow. How is your dad? I don't know any of the particulars but hoping he's well despite the growth? If you can find one local to you, there's a charity called Maggie's which have drop in centres all over. You can go there to talk or just get a cup of tea and not talk. My dad found them invaluable when I was diagnosed.
Can you get in something nice for a treat? Maybe a massive bar of chocolate?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/10/2014 20:21

Oh Imps, I'm so sorry. How are you all holding up?

Imps9 · 18/10/2014 10:54

Morning lovelies!

Thanks Stacks and Maybe - we all doing okay thanks. The growth is in his colon and apparently hasn't spread to anywhere else, which is good. It seems to be extremely slow growing which is also good - although he'll be having 1m of colon removed (Shock Confused). We're being our normal philosophical selves about things - it could be far far worse.

Stacks you had colon cancer didn't you? What treatment did you have, and what follow-up do you have now, if any?

Stacks · 18/10/2014 13:35

I had bowel cancer in the terminal ilium (where your appendix usually is), they took about 3m of bowel I think, a bit each large and small.

After I was given 6 months of chemotherapy, though mostly precautionary as I was so young they wanted to make sure. It was a course of tablets I took at home, plus an IV drug given in hospital. The protocol was called CapOx and side effects were manageable. I also had spreading to a bunch of lymph nodes which were all removed during the initial surgery. I think that made me officially stage 3, and odds of 50/50 to survive 5 years. They didn't tell me that though, just said statistics are unhelpful and I'd be fine...

Follow-up was a cat scan yearly for 3 years, and a colonoscopy every year for life (though in practice it's been more like 2 yearly, and none since pre-DS). Once you get to 5 years you're cured, and likelihood of getting it back is the same as anyone else getting it.

Will post more later or answer a pm if you want more info.

Imps9 · 20/10/2014 13:37

Aaah thanks Stacks - thanks for posting so much info. They've not spoken to my dad about chemo yet but am sure he'll need to have some. I spoke to him yesterday and he is feeling very positive - he's looking forward to getting the op over and done with and being waited on hand and foot for the next few months!

Anyway, enough talk about that - WHERE IS OUR NEXT BFP???? Come on pee sticks, sort yourselves out. I think I ov'd on Thurs, 21 days after the mc. So delighted that my body has recovered so quickly. Not expecting another natural BFP so BRING ON THE IVF!!

farfallarocks · 20/10/2014 13:55

Brookers!!

two babies that is brilliant news, congrats musical and dino! I am not on t'other place so can't see pics or names but bet they are gorgeous and musical that sounds like a sneeze birth to me!

imps I am so sorry about the looming date. I am hoping your dad's surgery is as straightforward as possible and he recovers speedily.
Scan dates and due dates are hard things when you have had a MC so try and be kind to yourself. Excellent news about the holibobs, I hope you manage to re0arrange the IVF appointment without too much trouble.

AF arrived after 17 days and blood tests were a bit more normal so looks like the cyst has gone, yay! FSH was 10.6 so still high but not disastrous.
I am due to have a monitoring scan on Friday (mid cycle) then I have a progesterone test 7 days after and then we might even be starting on day 1 of the next cycle if all the bloods work! Obviously I need an ironic BFP just before then :)

stacks nice to see you on here again, scary stuff you have been through!
Waves to solars keep and any lurkers!

hi all, I've been on hols and lost the thread

imps I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I'm of course brooking the 4th will be joyous for the removal of the evil tumour and the start of restoring him to tip top health

bring on the ivf for far and imps Smile
I've heard nothing from having had our referral sent to the hospital. this is supposed to be private medicine Hmm oh well I'm not in a rush

trix we bought s her first shoes a couple of months ago when she started walking Smile I agree super cute but she found them hard to walk in at first and slapped them down like clown feet Grin

Stacks · 24/10/2014 07:37

I find it hard to keep up with threads these days. Find my days consist of toddler taming and baby whispering, then the nights I'm up every 2 hours or so feeding. And repeat. It's not a bad thing really, just so hard to get time to myself. Been ages even since I managed a phonecall to family or friends. Text is the way forward with a phone grabbing toddler and a nosey baby :)

I hope everyone is doing ok. Where did you go on holiday keep? Hope the IVFers hear something soon so you know where you are at.

Imps9 · 24/10/2014 13:39

Hello Brookers happy Friday to you all :)

Welcome back from your holibobs Keep - did you have a fabulous time? Sporting a fabulous tan now?

Busy bee Stacks! All lovely stuff to be busy with though I'd imagine.

Far how is your monitoring cycle going? What do they monitor for? Hormone levels and/or other stuff?

AFM, am about 7 DPO and have lots of wonderful imaginary symptoms. Mr Imps has another spaff test on Tues morning and we've got our first clinic appt on 3 Dec. Hurrah bring it on!!

keepitgoing · 25/10/2014 09:52

ooh we love a good symptom imps! and aren't you meant to be super fertile after a Mc??

holiday was in portugal, v lovely. kip hung out with her cousins Grin Grin

far how's the cycle

stacks hope you aren't too exhausted. are you managing to enjoy it or is it a case of survival right now?

girls, kip is 1 in two weeks! I am already super emotional about it all...

Pastamancer · 25/10/2014 11:58

Imps are you still having your holiday? Don't forget that you are coming to the super fertility capital of the world it's either due to the water or the radiation so a perfect place to get your ironic BFP.

Imps9 · 26/10/2014 09:00

Yes will be holidaying from 7 Nov - I can't wait - I am so excited. I love holidaying with Mr Imps. And of course I will be celebrating my second FUFC BFP by then obviously.

The symptom spotting has been fun - just like the early days of TTC. I think that having been pregnant has bought back the hope and anticipation of getting a BFP which I haven't had for aaaaaaages.

Keep - ONE??? . That's totes mental. Any word on what's happening next with you and Kip2?

What've you all been up to this weekend? Any thoughts on Strictly?

keepitgoing · 26/10/2014 11:43

what symptomsimps? and yes, it CAN happen naturally. brook brook brook

no, no word on kip2/3/4... dh says I need to phone the hospital and chase. anyway AF is just finishing so we'll keep trying the old fashioned way too when we can be bothered Wink.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/10/2014 17:11

Hello all, sorry for being na absent brooker of late.

Glad you had a lovely holibob Keep. One?! How on earth is that possible. I refuse to believe A is 7 months today.

Imps I love a symptom spot. Spill. How long are you away for? How is your dad doing? Yay for first appointment. I'm so excited for you. Strictly. I think Caroline Flack will win. I love Scott.

How are you feeling Rubber?

How is the monitoring going Far?

Hello everyone else!!

farfallarocks · 28/10/2014 14:54

Yum thanks maybe for the bakes!!

keeps I am with DH, you may as well keep things moving as there are always delays along the way!

imps I am sure you are preggo and if not I think a FUFC BFP from holiday is exactly what the brokers are expecting and its great things are moving along and you have things in place.

Monitoring cycle going well, they are just checking hormones etc. to see which protocol I should be on but suspect it will be a short one. I had a scan on Friday and a blood test and they called me that evening to say ovulation was very imminent! Sadly we did not dtd until Sunday so I suspect we have missed the FUFC BFP opportunity. It was mini far's 2nd birthday so we had a lovely but hectic weekend. A little party and then a trip to the zoo yesterday which was very cute and she was extremely taken with the monkeys! So now we await AF and hopefully we can start in 2 weeks! I need some brooking support for an FSH below 10 please :)

OP posts:
Imps9 · 28/10/2014 22:08

Far's FSH you WILL be below 10, otherwise I will punch you in the face.

Two weeks Far!!! Ooooh my gosh that is exciting :) Glad this cycle is back on track - ovulating on day 3 or 4 (wasn't it?) indeed - outrageous behaviour. Shame to have missed the FUFC BFP, but an IVF BFP is just as good - brooking brooking brooking.

Maybe lovely to see you! How's it going with the house situation - any more thoughts about going for one of the new builds? Hope so as we need more BFPs on this thread I reckon Jake's going to win SCD and I hope he does - he's my fave celeb on there this year I think.

Keep, yes, deffo keep chasing IMHO - there will be enough biding of time as it is and we need more BFPs on this thread soon please

AFM, I can't really remember the symptoms now - lightheadedness, slight nausea, cramping - oddly no sore boobs whatsoever, although that is deffo a symptom according to the Law of Boobs. The best symptom is today though - definite implantation bleed. Not the onset of AF at all. Nope, no way - DEFINITELY an implantation bleed.

Right, bed time for me - I need to be up super early to get to work so I can have a shower - we're having our bathroom done at the moment which is very exciting, but a real pain not to have a bath or a shower in the house. Luckily we have a second loo otherwise I'm not sure what we would have done.

Night all :)

Pastamancer · 29/10/2014 10:39

Yes we need more BFPs, I'm starting to feel like a lonely old preggo here.

Imps remember you are coming to BFP land. Boo got her BFP with Booby just after coming here, Dino got one just before coming down and I'm sure my instadifferness comes from living here. You WILL get one better eat lots of pasties, cream teas, saffron buns just to be sure

keepitgoing · 29/10/2014 13:53

so the hospital just 'closed' my referral, without telling me about it. Angry. consultant's secretary is looking in to it

ah well imps bring on the ivf!!
