Here, we go, nice new thread.
Might be helpful to have some stats so we know where we all are?

I will start, farfallarocks - TTC#2, cycle 11. 1st brooking baby DD, 21 months. Investigations reveal high FSH and potentially starting IVF.

Imps, those lines are amazing!!! Where are you hollibobbing?

Far I'm so pleased MrF is really positive. It really helps the process.

I totally understand that Solars. Remind me, have you any frosties?

Imps9 · 19/09/2014 19:45

We're going to Cornwall Maybe and staying in a cosy cottage next to the sea! Cannot wait - I lovely cosy winter holidays with Mr Imps.

Got free dental check up today. Felt well weird telling someone out loud that I'm pregnant. She typed "baby due May 2015" which made it seem really real for some reason.

Who will be watching An Extra Slice ce soir?

Pastamancer · 19/09/2014 20:12

Imps you will be in Cornwall for my birthday :)

There is a private scan place in Truro...

When I was pregnant with dd I had my 12 week scan on 7th Nov which was the day I turned 12 weeks.

Imps9 · 20/09/2014 08:19

So that's the morning sickness started then Smile Can't keep anything down this morning.

Maybe when do you think you'll go for round 2? Do you plan to soon, or wait a little while? What's the process with a FET? Do you have to do the full IVF process again but instead of creating new embies they just use the existing ones? Or can you have a natural cycle and they pop the embie in at the right time?

What date is dd's birthday, Pasta? Funny that our dates are pretty much bang on!

Happy anniversary Far!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 20/09/2014 09:51

Oh Imps I know that must feel rubbish but I can help feeling GrinGrin for you Wink

Happy Saturday everyone else, tis party time at Boo towers, the 5th birthday of the old toddly boo. Cake anyone? I have a collection of awesome minion cupcakes if you'd prefer?

Pastamancer · 20/09/2014 12:01

Must be twins Imps

DD was due on 20th May, I went into labour on 25th and she finally made an appearance on 29th.

Solars · 20/09/2014 12:27

I'll take a minion Boo thanks and a squishy happy birthday to toddly Boo!!

Yeah on the morning sickness Imps looking forward to hearing all your symptoms throughout your pregnancy! Very envious of your cottage in Cornwall, we did that exact thing a couple of years ago it was so lovely!

Maybe no frosties which makes me think that we were extremely lucky with A and hence not sure it will work the next time for us hence the reservation of all the expense and time going for another round of ivf particularly given my age!!

Happy anniversary Far hope you're having a lovely time celebrating!!

keepitgoing · 20/09/2014 14:57

poor imps but tis a good sign Smile

solars I think it's true that you regret the things you don't do more than the things you do. yes ivf is hard, and expensive, but the potential is just amazing isn't it? if you want another but don't try would you look back in 10 years and think.....?

Solars · 21/09/2014 16:23

You're absolutely right Keep I think part of the issue is DH wants us to start soon whereas I want to wait a little longer as A is still quite young and I want to selfishly enjoy him I don't think it would be fair on him just yet, but time is not on our side! Hope all us well with you?

keepitgoing · 21/09/2014 18:19

yes lovely, thank you. though I'm looking for a job but can't stand the thought of leaving her Sad

it's difficult to know when to go. do you even have your cycles back if bf? I guess looking at the stats the earlier the better though, and though he's young it'll take a while to cycle etc and even then pregnancy is 9m...

I'm thinking spring, but probably need to stop bf for a few months before we start Sad as I love it

keepitgoing · 22/09/2014 09:33

boo toddly's bday looked amazing

imps what news?

I have af again so a 32 day cycle which doesn't seem bad. it's light though, is that because I'm still bf wise brookers? can't imagine this lining would be enough to sustain a pregnancy

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/09/2014 10:20

Not sure Keep. Mine have been much heavier since A, but they were really light before. Lovely Dino had some wise words on bf and TTC.

How you doing Imps? How's the sickness? I hope you're not feeling too awful. I have 4 top grade frosties, so just have to have a transfer. I have no idea how they do it at my clinic though. It will be much easier than a full round though.

That makes sense Solars, it's a big upheaval and a massive emotional undertaking cycling again. But it worked before, it can work again x

How's everyone else doing?

Imps9 · 22/09/2014 21:23

Hmmm such a tricky decision Solars - can understand wanting to put the shield up to protect you from it not going to plan, but as Keep said, you can't catch a fish if you don't cast a line. Anyway, with brooking power behind you, it's bound to work.

How was the party Boo? Hope you survived. Did you do pass the parcel? Complicated game, that.

Keep are your frosties on their way back yet?

AFM, sickness has completely gone - felt like shit on Sat, but perfectly fine yesterday and today Hmm Am guessing it maybe wasn't MS or maybe it does come and go like that. Boobs are quite ouchy though and am permanently thirsty - who knows what's going on in that there womb.

Is it Friday yet?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 22/09/2014 22:34

Nearly Friday Imps Wink It is totally normal for MS to come and go like that.

Solars it is such a tough decision isn't it, but I second what the others said about looking back ............

The party was indeed a fancy dress amazing thing, with no pass the parcel, it was survived by nearly all of us (K avoided some of it) and school boo had an amazing day! It was so cute when we told him he could choose lunch, any fid he wanted from any place and we'd take him, he chose a carpet picnic Grin

Off for some sleeps I think, just handed over my committee and Pre-School to a new Chairperson so I'm feeling a bit totes emotes Confused

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 07:48

Vom update: it's back Smile

I've had an all-day work thing cancelled today so I think I'm going to go to the GP. Was going to wait until next week, but it's more convenient to go today. Plus I suppose the sooner I go, the more chance there is of an early scan. Will just have to convince him/her not to put a hold on IVF referral until this one seems like it's going to be okay.

ps Boo - you lied - it's only Tuesday...

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 23/09/2014 09:28

I'm glad you're going to see the GP Imps, I hope they book you an early scan and convince them to keep your place in the list too :) also (sort of) glad to hear the ms is back Wink.

Is Tuesday not nearly Friday then? Sorry GrinWink

farfallarocks · 23/09/2014 10:25

imps good luck at the docs!
The MS does come and go so don't panic if it disappears. I found eating little and often really helped.

I had really light AF before littlefar but they have been heavier since. I had no AF at all when I was breastfeeding but they came back when I was down to one feed a day. I hated stopping but I had to go back to work when she was 6 months :(
keep the thought of going to work is worse than the reality but still, its tough! How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Could you wait a little, especially if you have frosties as you are then not thinking about egg quality?
maybe 4 frosties, wow! What was your issues in the end or was it unexplained? I can't remember sorry!
I was told not to expect frosties and not to expect many eggs as my amh is so low, 3/4 eggs would be a good result apparently!

Just waiting for AF to start so I can start the monitoring cycle at ARGC. Its late of course, just to tease me but BFN this morning! Gah. I hate those arctic pee sticks with a passion!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2014 11:34

Tell us how it goes at the GP Imps, I'm excited for you!!!

Far, MrM is a cystic fibrosis carrier, so has no tubes. They had to go in to get the sperm. I'm excited for you to start!!! Do you have a protocol yet?

Boo, that's just too cute Smile

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 11:53

Embarassed myself monumentally at the GP's - burst into tears as soon as I got in there and sobbed and sobbed throughout the whole appt, all the way home, and for 1/2 hour at home too Blush. Hormones, eh?!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 23/09/2014 12:27

@ Imps Wink those hormones are amazing aren't they! I once had a total melt down after Mr B got his first pay in his new job and decided to treat himself to lunch out, I felt so sad he would be on his own I cried all morning Blush I was also worried someone would say something and upset him (he's a traffic warden you see). There are many more tales of hormonal meltdowns I will share as appropriate Wink What did the Dr say?

keepitgoing · 23/09/2014 12:48

woohoo imps is a gpepp!!

far sorry for the bfn

I am 32, and have 3 frosties. I know I could wait but tbh the first one took so long I suppose I'm thinking the next may well too, frosties may not work etc. plus I think I'm sick of thinking of TTC, just want it all over and done with...

farfallarocks · 23/09/2014 12:50

Ah got it maybe, thanks for the reminder!
I suspect I will be on a short protocol given my egg reserve situation (they don't like to supress it) which I have heard is easier on the body. But the clinic I am at does a natural cycle monitoring and only then do they confirm the protocol I believe!

imps that sounds like an excellent sign to me and frankly totally understandable given all you have been through and how long you have been trying, you have always been so positive and 'together' so its no wonder all the emotion has come flooding back :)
What did the GP say WRT holding off on IVF referral?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 23/09/2014 13:03

GP says nothing will stop re: IVF referral until the dating scan (if that's okay). Feeling a bit it's-all-over at the moment - bit of brown cm and some pre-AF cramping - not like cramps I've had so far. Just have to wait and see I guess!

Boo love your hormone stories - I love a good ol' meltdown tale. Presumably DH was perfectly okay about going out for lunch by himself?!

Fat great that it's all starting! Still don't fully understand difference between short and long protocol (apart from the fact that one is short and one is long, presumably?). Remember - it just takes one. Oh, by the way - what's an arctic peestick??

maybe I didn't know about the CF - I knew there were no tubes but didn't realise that was the cause. Did it affect how they chose which sperm/embie to use?

Can't believe that it's still Tuesday.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 23/09/2014 13:18

Imps brown is old, not new blood, and cramping is very very common in early pregnancy, those pesky hormones are loosening all your ligaments for stretching.

And yes, he was perfectly fine when he had his lunch, he'd had several lunches before that day, but in my hormonal daze I forgot that Wink

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 13:55

Thanks Boo - I've had lots of cramping but these feel like Bad Cramps instead of Good Cramps. Haven't been knicker-checking til today - I feel like making it official with the GP has jinxed it.
