Hi

My DP and I recently decided to try for our first child together (I already have 4 DS aged 11-17 with my ex-H). I have hypothyroidism but have been feeling very run down for a while so thought it would be a good idea to see my GP for a bit of an MOT as part of the TTC process and he ran some bloods.

Was called in to see the GP and have been told that my thyroid levels are fine and well controlled but that I am anaemic. I have to go and have more bloods taken tomorrow for further info.

I admit that I'm worried - GP said that my iron levels have shown a downward trend since 2011. I don't on the face of it have any reason for being anaemic. A quick look at Dr Google (always a bad idea!) has suggested various causes (some scary) and also that it could cause fertility issues. I'm 40 this week and don't need anything else going against me!

Had anyone got any experience of this?
