Is it possible to have a 'bleed' and still be pregnant? HELP PLEASEE :(

So, I got two positive pregnancy tests on Thursday morning and was over the moon. I told my partner and my mum, who to, we're over the moon. But then Saturday morning I started bleeding, medium flow, and was confused and disappointed. But since Saturday, I've stopped bleeding and my pregnancy 'symptoms' have trebled. My dizziness has gotten a lot worse, my exhaustion has gotten worse, as has my headaches and tender boobs. I know this could all be signs of AF, but I never ever get these signs.. I only ever get cramps!
Can anyone help? Any advice would be helpful because I'm so confused. :( thank you in advanced x

It is absolutely possible! Keeping taking HPTs if you can and keep an eye on any spotting or bleeding in case, heaven forbid, you are experiencing a chemical pregnancy. I wish you luck that you little bean stays stuck!

So it's definitely possible that my tests were right and I am pregnant?! So what was with this bleeding?!
FX for me too haha! Thank you for answering Kitty :)

Wee on another stick and see!

KittyVonCatsington · 11/08/2014 16:42

The bleeding could have been the little bean burrowing further into your lining or and I don't like writing this it could mean something isn't quite right. Only time will tell. For now, there is every chance you are pregnant.

Hm yeah.. It's a lot to think about! Shall I do what Floop said and POAS in the morning to see whether I get another positive? What happens if I get a negative then? :/ I'm too scared to POAS in case it comes back negative because as far as I'm concerned, I'm PG because the tests came back as a BFP!... Oh it's all too much!

Yes it is I had three 'periods' with my third pregnancy. 7 month old ds is currently rolling around the floor blowing raspberries. I was 11 weeks when I found out!

Jade, on our 4th Ivf cycle after 5 years ttc I finally got a positive. Hurray. Next day, blood, very light though. Was put on bed rest, was agonising wait for blood tests 5 days later which showed very high levels of pg hormones...very high, turned out to be twins. Had more bleeding at 15 weeks, again light. All turned out fine in the end but it is stressful

Good luck

I had a bleed similar to how you described at 6 weeks. Had a early scan a few days later and all was well with no explanation for the bleed. I am now 20 weeks and everything is going really well.
Can you contact your epu for a scan?

KittyVonCatsington · 11/08/2014 19:42

Would have thought if Jade has only just got her BFP on Thursday, a scan wouldn't pick up anything, even if she was pregnant.

Jade, this early on, there is nothing you really can do, apart from wait and yes, keep testing with HPTs if you can.

Jadexclark · 11/08/2014 19:54

AnotherStitchInTime, that gives me hope! If I am pg, I'd only be about 4 weeks... So very early on which is why I'm worrying!!

Heels99, twins?! Wow, congratulations! My bleeding was medium flow, which is why I was worried. I'm thinking about doing another test in the morning to see whether I still get a positive result, but I'm so nervous in case it says negative :(

FranksBobot, congratulations :) I hope your pregnancy is a h&h one! I haven't contacted my epu yet as it's been over the weekend and today I haven't been bleeding so I haven't known what to do! I think I'm going to wait until the morning and test again and see what result that gives me....

Just to sound a note of caution,, even if you have miscarried, it's likely that you will still have positive tests - I had an early Mc and tested positive for 2 months, despite having scans which showed no retained tissue. Best thing to do is ring GP. They can then arrange for 48 hr blood tests to see if HCG is doubling either through them or through EPU. This will show if pregnancy is continuing or not. You will have to wait for a scan though as so early. Having said that, I also bled at 11 weeks in this pregnancy and all was fine. Fingers crossed for you.

Jadexclark · 11/08/2014 20:08

FTMK thank you for telling me that... If I test positive in the morning I'll keep that in the back of my head. I think the right thing to do is ring my GP in the morning and tell him what's been going on. I'll never know otherwise!

Thank you all for your advice, you've all been a great help and support x

How many weeks pg do you have to be to be able to see anything on a scan KittyVonCatsington?
I'll definitely keep testing with HPTs, I'll keep you updated and let you know how I get on tomorrow morning :)
