About to start clomid then the smear results get in the way :(

Hi all - wondered if anyone else has dealt with this?

Been TTC since last August but I've never had a regular cycle. Went to the doctors in January as I had all pregnancy symptoms, no AF for 10 weeks as per and a number of negative tests.

He did a blood test and found I wasn't ovulating and so 6 months later finally referred me for clomid.

In the meantime I got the letter to book a smear test, which happened 2 weeks ago and I got the results back on Monday saying I need to go to hospital for a colposcopy and probably treatment.

If I have treatment my cervix will need a recovery time of up to 4 weeks which sounds like nothing but I'm really feeling like its just one thing after another!

I'm feeling really down and like I am never going to be lucky enough to get my BFP!

I did consider ignoring the smear results and carrying on with clomid and getting pregnant before booking my colposcopy but my fiancé thought that was ridiculous and as it turns out they just book you in anyway so I go on Monday :(

Any advice or anyone else been in a similar situation - it would be great to speak about this to someone other than my fiancé!

Thanks in advance :)

I'm in a similar situation and am opting to delay the clomid, just on the off chance that the scan picks up something that requires an operation and therefore could potentially harm a pregnancy.

Good luck with the clomid and appointment on Monday. Hopefully it is nothing serious.

I've got colposcopy on Monday and Clomid apt on 19th I also opted to get myself checked out but thought I will go to first apt and see what the doctor suggests.

I just feel like I've waited so long to get to this point that I don't want to delay the clomid.

Have you had any cycles of it yet?

My DD (7) was conceived with clomid but I was a good few stone lighter then. Now TTC #2 I've had 2 cycles of clomid and no luck so far. Oddly cycle 2 was 82day! which baffled the life out of me and the docs.

The body does weird things doesn't it!

Fingers crossed we both get sorted soon be worth the wait eventually

:-)

Thanks for responding - even though its rubbish for you its good to know other people are going through the same thing.

Hi girls,

I'm in a similar boat - was TTC but have had to put it on hold while awaiting a colposcopy appointment. I got the results from my smear almost 2 weeks ago but my colposcopy isn't for another month! I'm annoyed that it's potentially wiping me out for 2-3 months :-(

Though it's awful, we're definitely doing the right thing by holding off on TTC. Much better to get everything sorted first.

Fx to you both that everything is fine at your appointments.

Hetty xx
