Positive thinking - how will you tell people when you get your BFP?

Following a discussion started on another thread - do any of you have any ideas or fun ways of how you plan on telling your partner / friends and family when you get the BFP!?!

Smile Not jinxing anything here, just biding the time and trying to think positive.

Marking place as I may need some ideas

Hi beaver fever,

The ones I like are the fortune cookies I mentioned before.

Also I like the idea some have done of going to take a photo of the family and when they are ready instead of saying cheese you say 'I'm pregnant' or something similar and that way you have a camera and are able to record or take pics of the moment it happens!

We've not discussed it, but I have some ideas Grin

I liked this

and this too

I also thought I could get both my dds a 'Big Sister' t-shirt and buy a baby grown too to hold over my stomach so dd1 in t-shirt, dd2 in t-shirt and me holding a babygro

Too cheesy?!

bubalou · 08/08/2014 11:40

Hi divergent - not too cheesy at all.

I was thinking about taking DS who is 6 (and hopefully able to keep a secret when it happens) round to my parent wearing a 'I'm going to be a big brother' top under a jumper.

Then I was going to day 'DS take your hoodie off if your hot' at a moment when they're all gathered together and are who notices first.

I like a lot of the scan ideas but where I am they don't scan you until 12 weeks and as it's my 2nd I think i will definitely be showing by then!!!

DP was with me when I tested although didn't believe it was a positive until I sent him a picture of a digi stick confirming it. He now believes he has naming rights because I pee'd on another stick Hmm

Anyway... I recently told DS. He's quite a bit older than many siblings to be. I said we were going to do a cool science experiment and produced a cup with some liquid and an internet cheapie. While he dipped the stick I started 'explaining' that we were testing for HCG (he didn't know what that was) and what the stick was going to do. Once we had the double line and he agreed that meant the chemical we were looking for was in the sample I then pulled out the packaging for the test strip which said what it was for. He was delighted! He knows it is still early days (7+3 at the time) and he must keep it a secret. DP didn't know what I was about to do and was a bit perturbed at having a cup of wee in the living room!

Aw pisghetti that's really cute.

I like the ideas people have with the positive sticks. I'm going to have aa think about ways to tell my DH with this.

I'm ttc#3 after mmc in january

I will keep any future pregnancy a secret as long as possible but when we do announce it this is what we will do,,
Recently visited the local sealife centre and there was a large turtle egg which turns pink or blue or you can just leave it looking like an egg but on either side there are broken eggs that kids can sit in.. So dd will sit in 1, ds will sit in the other and i'll attach the scan piccy on the egg!

bubalou · 09/08/2014 12:18

Sorry to heart that jazzy Hmm

That's a really lovely and original idea.

I hope you get to do it soon. X

I was also thinking - I have a special sticker sheet that you put into your computer printer and put what you want on it.

You then can iron it onto a t-shirt. I might download the baby scan onto the computer and print it on a t-shirt for me with 'arriving in (example) 'May 2015'.

Will have to have a camera handy to capture my mums face when she sees it. Wink
