Coming off the pill advice

About to start TTC #2 (not preventing rather than trying...). I'm wondering if we should use condoms for the first cycle. Background- I've never had very regular cycles (usually 25-45 days) so it doesn't make a difference to knowing potential due date- but because I know when I ovulate that's not a problem anyway. Last time i got pregnant on third cycle after stopping pill. Main worry is whether or not my body might get all excited and start chucking out eggs left, right and centre- is there a higher likelihood of conceiving twins right after coming off the pill?

Hi op, congrats on ttc- how exciting for you.
I don't have a definitive answer but my personal experience was, ttc#1 and #2 we used condoms for the first cycle then conceived on the following one. When I was ttc#3 we didn't wait, conceived straight away and sadly mc at 11 weeks. I'm not saying that this would happen to you or that not waiting was a factor in the mc but personally I'd use condoms for the first cycle. Not sure about the likelihood of twins, hopefully someone more experienced will reply to you about that. Good luck, fingers crossed for you!

Hi Ello. So sorry about your mc. What I do know is that conceiving just after stopping the pill definitely doesn't make mc more likely according to research. It must have just been one if those horrible things that commonly happens- but you definitely didn't do anything to cause it.
