I know blue dye are trusted less because of the evap line issues with them. The obvious question is are the blue dye tests the same sensitivity as the pink dye? You say you are late for your period, normally you would be testing positive on any test once you are late so it does sound like you might be getting evaps from your blue dye tests.

My only advice would be to keep testing. You can get strip tests really cheap online for loads so at least you won't feel guilty if you use loads of them.

the pink dye says 10ml but its the last of my ebay cheapy ones iv took the whole 30 over a period of 3 weeks? the blue ones are the sainsburys ones?
I know they have a bad name but surely evaps are colourless?
Iv a mum of 2 and have over a handful of mcs so I spot the signs a mile off.
im waiting on delivery of a clear blue digital to shed some light!
just so frustrating as if I am and I grow attached my partner of 9 years is leaving me so I need to know to way my options early :(

I have had 2 false positives on a sainsbury test, I have also had 1 real positive from them. What test was the pink dye test, also post photos so we can judge!

mumoftwo25 · 04/08/2014 19:02

I can't seem to be able to post photos? it was a cheapie of ebay 30 for 2.99?
did your false positives have blue dye on them?

Well I can see a faint line Smile

cookielove · 04/08/2014 20:01

I can see the faint line, I thought sainsbury were a cross?

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 04/08/2014 20:05

The Sainsbury ones are notorious for false positives. There are a lot of stories online of people getting them. We're the lines off centre at all? I seem to remember that thin blue off centre lines are likely evaporation lines on those tests. I would say that the pink dye test is likely more reliable but I hope that you get the result you are hoping for.

mumoftwo25 · 04/08/2014 20:06

yup I took them apart so the - wont be seen as tgats actually a dark plastic - attached to the backing? im puzzled as to whether there both evaps although there both blue? Xx

no both in the middle and as fat as the test line, both blue too x

Those look like my experience of blue dye evaps, sorry to say. Every single blue dye test I've ever taken has shown a blue evap after about 10 minutes. I think I'd only trust a line on these if it appeared immediately. How long did the lines take to appear?

Hope you get the result you want x

Marymaymay · 04/08/2014 20:30

I spent a week crying thinking I wasn't preg after using the internet cheapies you have. They say they are 10miu - they're not. They were less sensitive than the regular test from clearblue. I got a positive on both 2 days before AF due. I left them negative feedback.

mumoftwo25 · 04/08/2014 20:34

well im not entirely sure as im sure iv got an obsession with pee sticks witch probably causes line eyes Confused

they really should be banned!
luckily im not wanting another im 25 iv got 2 and my youngest starts school next year so im wanting to go back to work, the thought is a precious beautiful one but reality shadows it.
so its a releive really, I have a clear blue digital arriving in the post soon Smile that will be a sure definite answer?
why else would I be experiencing symptoms and missed period Hmm Confused

x

Hello, I need help guys I had my first in Jan of 2021 since 12 I've had periods every 28 days to a T, here recently I'm 12 days late.. the longest I've been late has been 2 days besides when I found out I was pregnant in 2020. I've taken three different blue dye test which showed faint positive all the pink dye I've tried (mainly the paper strip ones) are negative. I haven't had any blood or spotting and get slight pulling/ cramp like feelings and been very tired. Doctors won't do anything right now cause Thanksgiving break so what is going on I need some insight 😭😭🥺

Dhows · 19/03/2024 16:56
