Inconclusive?

Can anyone help me understand the concept of an inconclusive pregnancy blood test? I had it on Thursday and my doctor rang me that evening to tell me it was bang on 5. I get it means that my hormoans weren't high enough to give a positive but does this mean I am likely or unlikely to be pregnant?

I'm not sure but could it mean it's too early and the hormone hadn't built up enough yet for a positive blood test? Do you have another test booked?

It means the HCG level wasn't high enough for them to confirm a positive, but it's a promising start! I tested at 12 mIU on 11 dpo and was told I was "likely" pregnant. At 14 dpo the level had gone up 82 mIU which was confirmed positive. Different clinics seem to use different values to confirm the pregnancy - I think it's usually between 5 and 15.

Well I started bleeding this morning, it started light and has gone to a medium flow. I also took a FR and it came back positive but only a faint line. I spoke to my doctor and he suggested I may have miscarried :( but wants me to go in jext Tuesday for yet another blood test. Needless to say I'm heartbroken
