Acupuncture advice needed

I am looking to start acupuncture before our second round of IVF (first round unsuccessful) and I don't know whether to find someone close to home or someone close to IVF clinic which is about an hours drive? Anyone got experience /advice on this? Thanks

Hey lumen I would go with whichever is most convenient and has experience with accompanying an IVF cycle. The only appointments I had which were quite time critical were for ET, where they like you to go as soon as possible before and after ET. As I had my ET at 8am, I had one session of acu the evening before around 8pm and then another straight after I left the clinic which was about 20 min walk away.

There is a huge difference in how long the clinics keep you in after ET - mine only get you to lie down for 20 min or so and then go through the discharge papers, whereas others seem to keep you for 2 hours or so. So bearing that in mind, I doubt a 1 hour drive if you had acu near home would be a problem.

Are there any acupuncturists who work with your clinic? Some will actually go directly to the clinic so you can have your treatments in one place. It might also be worth checking how flexible they are with appointments. My ET fell at the weekend and the acu lady had no issues with opening up especially to see me, but some might not be so flexible.

Hope that helps!

Thx chloe that is helpful. We have our review meeting on Tues so I will ask if they recommend anyone, but it is a FC that is linked to a uni so they seem to be more into the research and using new procedures than the woo stuff.
