Congrats siarie!!! :)
I never read any books at all with DS. But I do recommend going to some antenatal groups. Like if ur breast feeding going to a support group. Because I wish I had done that as I had no idea how to breast feed and was forced to give DS a bottle as he wasn't getting any milk.
I'm booking into every antenatal group this time round hahaa!!

I've been googling (yes I know I shouldn't!!) BUT it's made me feel so much better about my situation as by the looks of it tons of people have been through this and turned out absolutely fine :) I'm confident my little bean is growing fine. I just wish my midwife appt will hurry up and come round lol

Ducky23 · 16/08/2014 11:48

Well from what you have said cupcake I would be very very surprised if anything had happened to your little bean cupcake Smile

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 12:17

Congrats siarie!! Brilliant news! We're having a really lucky month Grin

Met my friend for breakfast and had a big cry about my work worries to her. She reckons the stress isn't worth it and has suggested I quit and go on benefits. I've found the job stressful and upsetting since January and I took nearly two weeks off due to depression at the beginning of last month. I'm going to ask for advice on the mental health or work thread but was wondering if anyone had any advice or experience of being unemployed when pg or due to mental health issues? I don't know my rights or what if be entitled to and DP isn't being supportive of the idea but I can't far the thought of going back there now I've got such horrible ms on top of my high stress levels Sad

Ducky23 · 16/08/2014 12:22

Have you got a supportive gp lil? Is DH working?

I know how horrible it is being in a job you hate Hmm

Cupcake92 · 16/08/2014 13:00

U have to do what's best for u and ur baby. U both need to be happy to be healthy.
When ur 28 weeks u can claim employment support( same as job seekers allowance but u don't do the active job search) u can also claim maternity allowance from 29 weeks. They will take 5 of ur last wage slips if weekly or last 3 if monthly. I got paid £146 a week and ended up getting £225 every 2 weeks for maternity allowance. Then as soon as baby is born u can claim child tax and child benefit. Also if ur husband is on a low income u can claim housing benefit.
Me and my DH are on low income and we get housing benefit. Not much but it helps a lot. But please if ur not happy it isn't good for u or the baby :(
Go to citizen advice and they can tell u exactly what u can get to help. Or even ur doctor could sign u off for the rest of the pregnancy. I'd deffo ask.

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 13:00

Yes my gp is very supportive. I don't think I can get an appointment with her for a couple of weeks though but I'll see if they can get a doc to ring me and sign me off if needed on Monday.
DP is working but doesn't support the idea of me quitting because he reckons we won't be able to afford our rent any more and will have to move house. He says if I have to quit I'll have to get another job...

Does anyone know if I'd be entitled to incapacity? I get no sick pay at my job.

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 13:41

Thanks cupcake Smile I really appreciate it Thanks

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 13:43

I've been trying to find a helpline that's open on weekends but no luck Confused

Cupcake92 · 16/08/2014 18:15

I hate my 'H'

LuluJakey1 · 16/08/2014 18:19

Why? What has happened? Are you OK?

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 18:26

What's happened Cupcake? Thanks

Siarie · 16/08/2014 18:49

Oh no what's he done now?

Ducky23 · 16/08/2014 18:52

Cupcake are you ok? Should I be expecting mine to go mental?! Confused

Lil, it depends on your ni contributions, if DH is working full time probably not. You might be entitled to working tax credit as depending on your income? There's a website called turn2us that you can put all your details in (do it as if you have stopped working) and it will tell you if you will be entitled to anything Smile

iamdivergent · 16/08/2014 19:20

Hope you are ok cupcake Sad Thanks

Just so argumentative at everything. -_-
Over what time to order food.
Grr!!! He stormed off upstairs to go on his playstation lol

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 20:07

Men and their playstations! Mine was on his for ages earlier playing Batman. Then he called me pathetic for crying about feeling so sick Angry

Cupcake92 · 16/08/2014 20:28

Aww lilla :( that's horrible. I hate it when DH calls me pathetic! I hate that word! Hope ur alright lilla :(

See I would argue back too him but I'm so tired tonight I just Cba. He's gone into the lounge to play on it now and I'm now in bed. DS went to bed half and hour ago and I was so eager to jump in my bed. I don't get it, I'm exhausted, like rele exhausted. Pregnancy is very tiring hahaa!

lillamyy1 · 16/08/2014 21:27

I'm ok thanks Smile he's apologised now.
Have you still been having ms or has it gone now? Hoping mine will go quickly!

LuluJakey1 · 16/08/2014 23:27

We've been out for a meal with some friends tonight. DH has had 4 pints and has been sliding his hand up my leg in the taxi on the way home. Honestly!

However, when I came up to bed after feeding the cats he had fallen asleep- usual pattern if he has more than 3 drinks. Grin The great lover!

Cupcake92 · 17/08/2014 06:10

That's good lilla :)
Ms is better but I still have it. It's not every day tho :) hope urs gets better soon! It's awful feeling so sick :(

Aaw lulu Grin ur DH makes me laugh! Hope u enjoyed ur meal

Cupcake92 · 17/08/2014 07:40

Just thought I'd share with u all a picture of me when pg with DS. I still had a month to go haha. But I was HUGE! So u can imagine why they said DS was too big for me to push him out. At this point I couldn't lie down as it was too painful and I had begun to find it very hard to walk!
Not to put u all off or anything!! Haha! :p

Siarie · 17/08/2014 07:45

Oh my god! You were massive, I bet people kept saying twins! Xx I wonder how big you'll be this time, was your DS a born a average weight?

I'm only 3w 3days and I'm already knackered, yesterday evening was a stretch and I keep waking up really early.

Cupcake92 · 17/08/2014 07:50

Yep people kept asking if I was having twins and when I told them, nope just one little boy. They were shocked!!!
He was 8lb 13oz! I'm only 5"3 so I'm small. I hope I'm not as big this time round! I had steroid injections with DS so I'm convinced they made him grow big.

Siarie I felt like that early on. It's annoying as u think "it's too early I shouldn't feel awful yet" but u do :(

Bearsinmotion · 17/08/2014 07:56

Congrats siarie!

I found the first 12 weeks were the worst and the last two weeks but let's not go there in terms of how I felt, it must get better soon!

Mil is here this weekend, yesterday she persuaded DP that I should stay in bed while they looked after DD so I could have a break. I love Mil Grin

Ducky23 · 17/08/2014 08:20

Wish I could see the pic cupcake!!! Am soooo tierd! Went out last night to a friends and stayed late then this morning my lie in didn't go to plan as this cheeky monkey woke me up booting me!

Have you sorted things with DH cupcake?
