How to deal with mess...

Hey guys I'm a veteran of the ttc scene- tool 3 years for DD currently sleeping peacefully downstairs, and this time round we've been trying for 16 mo and counting- so I should really know the answer to this already.

Please be nice to me, this is a genuine question that has been confusing and embarrassing me for some time!

Basically, I want to know what other people do after sex. Currently we use tissue to stop the sperm coming

*out and making a mess. I worry though that this is counterproductive with ttc, as tissue is absorbent! How do other people cope with the mess? I think ours is not the best method, but am too embarrassed to ask anyone in RL!

I lay with my legs up against the wall and a pillow with a towel over it under my bum/hips! It's meant to give a better angle or something, read about it a long time ago!

Some still leaks back out by not much!

I think the stuff that comes back out is never going to have a chance of reaching the cervix anyway so I'd just advise to keep your bum lifted and legs up for 10 minutes after DTD and after that I think you've given it the best possible chance. Eventually the excess will have to come out anyway IYSWIM

Pillow and towel under bum, legs up and stay there for a while. Last time I did that nothing came out at all (score) and I know that i've maximised every possible chance.

Lots of people don't need to bother and they will get pregnant that cycle or in cycles to come.

altho its embarassing to ask, im glad u did, its something ive often wondered.

i find that at the time of ovulation, none comes out anyway, so im presuming thats cos the cervix is more open? but other times, i just lay with my legs up.... i wouldnt think tissues would hinder ttc to be honest, its not like your shoving them up there, so i wouldnt worry. x

Hey Amelia, my friend and I were discussing this only last night. She has 3 kids and said to me that if the sperm is dripping out,MIT will already be dead and it only needs one to make the baby!

I do what the other ladies do, lie on a towel with my bum in the air, don't know if it's helping me or not but got to be worth a go and I make my partner go on top so I never move too much for 10-15 mins x

When we were ttc the first time I would insist dh go on top and occasionally would put my legs up against the wall and bum on pillow, a lady on my thread suggested just rolling over and going to sleep aa she got pregnant that way. In the end we followed the smep and got upduffed that way. That pregnancy ended in mmc.

Then 3 months later we were practicing the withdrawal method while we waited for some results to do with the mmc and accidentally fell pregnant, I remember when I concieved as I was tracking ovulation and I had been on top and hopped off straight away and cleaned up, it qas 4 days before I ovualted.

So my point is all the important stuff is already in you and what comes out is just fluid. But seeing as you want to avoid mess you can buy things called soft cups that you put in straight after dtd and keep it where it should be.

I spent a long time doing the legs up method, but it never worked- infact, it wasn't until we stopped trying at all that I fell pregnant.

So the general consensus is that it doesn't matter what we do, cos the sperm that's going to make it will stay in?
