PCOS advice please.. not sure if it will make any sense!

I think I'm just worrying outloud, so feel free to ignore, but am worrying if anyone has any experience of PCOS.

Basically, I was diagnosed with it when i was about 16/17 after lots of different appointments and eventually a scan at a private hospital.

At that time, my cycle was about 35 days and fairly regular. The doctors said although this was longer then average, it was ok because I was still having regular periods, however that it didnt mean my periods would always be like that and that it could get worse as I got older.

My cycle stayed at 35 days until I got pregnant at 19. After I had ds I went on the implant. I got this taken out in may so we could start trying for dc2, had a period not long after.

35 days later, no period. It then came at 39 days. Im due on again now and its now 41 days. We only had sex about 3 times this month because I have been so so tired, so I know it is very unlikely I am pregnant, I am now terrified this is the start of the PCOS getting worse.

No idea what to do now. Does anyone have PCOS too?

Hi I have this too, very erratic periods, sometimes months apart but I went on to have three more children after being diagnosed so fertility wasn't an issue.
To be honest I like the lack of periods and now have a coil fitted which means I hardly get any
The one thing I have found very upsetting is the facial hair, that gradually got worse over the years and I have to shave daily.
I try to think along the lines of, of all the health things people cope with on a daily basis, my having to shave is not too bad in the grand scheme of things!

Trying to keep your weight under control is a good idea as being overweight can exacerbate some symptoms
There's also some drugs which can help symptoms if you want to go down that route, don't know how much help I've been but feel free to ask me anything you want

thanls for replying, i have the facial hair too, which is why i went to the doctors in the first place. it is horrible.

realistically, i know i have ages for more kids as i am only 22, but at the same time im scared that 22 is so young to be struggling for a baby already. I realise i am so lucky to have a ds already, but part of the reason i had him was because the doctor didnt know how long it would be before my cycle did change, i was scared if i waited i could miss ny chance (like now)

i am overweight so im doing slimming world at last!

I have lived with PCOS for about 20 years. The best thing I can advise is watch your weight, exercise and look into low GI foods such as brown bread. Stay away from processed carbs. On the plus side the hair thing gets better over time as should your periods. Taking metformin usually helps with the blood sugar swings. Lastly and most importantly it is not the end of the world
