Nordic - did you ever get my PM about coeliac a disease and repeated miscarriages? Might be something to look into if it's not already been done...

Really really sorry to hear about the spotting :(. Still got my fx for you hun x

Cpt1sock · 30/07/2014 13:15

sunbathingcat sorry I missed your reply from yesterday. I have RA & limited systemic sclerosis. I was diagnosed when ds1 was about 4 months, I was 18. When I was pg with ds2 I could have forgotten I was ill, it was brilliant. When he was born I didn't have huge flare and had minimum symptoms. About 8yrs ago had a miscarriage and had a huge flare up that's only just started to be controlled. I'm really hoping to have the same experience I had with 2nd pregnancy. I'm starting to feel lack of meds now so hoping ttc isn't going to take much longer.

kurama how're you feeling today? When will you have blood results?

trying sorry I missed your BFP earlier. Congratulations.

nordic I can see your test is BFP! I hope the spotting stops.

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 13:42

Spotti I did read your message but forgot to reply sorry. Not sure if I've been tested for that when they repeatedly tested for everything also for my mystery illness that has now been diagnosed as secondary adrenal insufficiency . I think I've looked into the symptoms though and don't recognise any of them . Don't generally have problems with my stomach or digestion . I think my issue might be with lack of progesterone although luteal phase isn't too short . Can't for the life of me remember if it was ever checked but seem to remember my miscarriage specialist either had me on it with the steroids from ttc or not sure if he said to take it from getting BFP . I have heard of ladies who've miscarried repeatedly been helped by having it from the get go. Maybe I'll have to go see my obgyn and ask for it . I've had cramping like now and back pain for days since about 7-8 dpo it feels the same now and still just light spotting but it hasn't stopped either . I guess I will test tomorrow in any case .

kurama · 30/07/2014 13:47

nordic I havr my fingers crossed for you xxxxx
cpt im going to phone up fri and hope they have results. if not I should have them by next wed.

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 14:04

Thanks kurama . I wish you the best of luck with your test results and I do hope you'll get them soon !

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 14:05

Choccywoccydodah · 30/07/2014 15:59

Hi all, finally find you all!!
Hope you are all ok. Hi aswell to those I don't know! Good luck in all your journeys :)

Wanted to keep you updated (if you're bothered lol!) with my end!
So, due date for my first has gone (21st July) and was totally and utterly devastated! It doesn't help that I'm still not fecking pregnant!

I had my follow up appt after number 6 last month and my appt was 2 days off due ov date and we had sex 2 days before. We were told to stop trying, have a proper period after last mc, then 7 days following ov the next cycle they'd check nk cells.
Well, I was relieved I ov'd late last month so I didn't catch and ov'd this cycle on Saturday. Was due my test next Monday, however they have slapped me with a bill (we were never told of any cost at our consultation, so assumed they were no longer charging) and DH and I have decided not to have it.
Where does it stop? They said it could be inconclusive, so does that mean they'll want to test me for other things at a cost?? We always said we'd never pay for tests of have ivf etc.

We have the most amazing son who is 3 in a couple of weeks, and I feel I've not been making the most of him for the last year as I've been so caught up is all this. I thank my lucky stars every time I look at him that I at least managed to get him!

So, I researched last night things I could take and I have bought out Holland and Barrett today!
I'm armed with a Pregnacare conception, Vit B complex with vitamin C slow release, vitamin D3, CoQ10, Baby aspirin (shhhhhh!!), progesterone from my last cycles that people have said use from BFP rather than OV, EPO, and Omega 3, I think that's it!

I'm glad we've had 2 cycles off trying as last month I actually had a proper AF! However I did have 6 days of spotting before hand, then 3 days of af, but for me my mcs always give me light spotty bleeding rather than heavy, very odd!

It's our wedding anniversary 8th September so you never know I may get some good sticky news by then :)

So just wanted to let you all know. Xxxx

lucieloos · 30/07/2014 16:51

Hi Choccy, I really hope you get a bfp soon. I remember you from last year when I was briefly TTC before we decided to get married and that took over. I have also stocked up on supplements this month and am trying co enzyme 10 and wheat germ oil which are supposed to improve the quality of your eggs. FX for us both!

I'm going to update the stats list tonight everyone so we can see how many July BFPs there have been Grin

sparkle17 · 30/07/2014 17:05

I also hope you get your bfp soon choccy

I am now googling all these things that you and lucie have put up.
Holland and barret are going to love me.

Choccywoccydodah · 30/07/2014 17:17

Googling wheat germ oil :) coQ10 is coenzyme q10. I fear I may overdose!

Spotti · 30/07/2014 17:28

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 17:48

Thanks for all the well wishes guys and congrats on bfps to newcomers . I was wondering if anyone has had sciatica in early preg before? I haven't but now do for whatever reason I'm in absolute agony on my right leg all the way to the foot and have just had to beg DH to go get dd from nursery since I feel like I can't walk very well. I've been researching and it seems that although it much more common in later trimesters some do get it in the first weeks . Wonder if its the hormones . I don't dare to take anything but paracetamol just in case otherwise would go for the nurofen + about now. Interestingly it started around 7-8 dpo when i had a little bit of blood once and wondered if if could have been imp b . Been getting worse and worse ever since then . I thought I'd die in the plane back from our holiday in Turkey but i managed surprisingly well. Looking after dd2y will be a bit tricky with all the lifting etc . DS has just gone away to DGp until sun so can't help . Luckily just 2 d until weekend when DH takes her there too and I can just rest . Am wondering how long this will last though . Said about weeks when I looked it up . God I might need a crutch or something !
Thanks for the link Spotti , it was interesting reading .

Rustyzilla · 30/07/2014 18:30

Thanks MrsE for your reply. I do have an appointment with private GP through work on Fri as I and DH were a bit worried, but hoping that will put my mind at rest! I've had this for about 15 years so it's under control (as much as it ever is) and is not Hashimoto's, but I am sure a GP previously told me to just 'start taking more thyroxine' the minute I found out I was pregnant, that's what got me worried! I'm taking Pregnacare (finishing off the conception ones I have) and take those at night and my Thyroxine in the morning. Have never heard that I shouldn't drink caffeine in case of it interfering with thyroxine absorption? I've also never heard about the correlation between thyroxine and low iron, although I did have all that checked just before TTC as I was feeling tired a lot. Doc seemed to think all was okay... I will just feel better once referred to specialist Ob. Thanks so much for your wise words Thanks

BTW, symptoms for all you spotters so far seem to just be mimicking AF pains and major bloating.

Nordic Fx firmly crossed for you x

To throw it out there and maybe clear some things up, the link is with regards to most auto immune disorders. It's common knowledge that if you have one auto immune disorder (and there are many) then you are more likely to have others.

Logically really because the fault is with your immune system and there are lots of cells which are very alike making it difficult for your immune system to realise what is what. Anyway point being it's early days in the research but some people have an immune system which attacks the foetus and there have been some links to various auto immune diseases that increase the risk. That said I really would not worry about it unless you find you have multiple MC/or chemical pregnancies, we just don't know enough about the link yet. Even then there are many reasons why for that so pinpointing the issue is key.

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 19:47

Could you please put me in the BFPs if someone updates stats again even if it's just for now I feel like it's not over yet with my faint positive ! I'm still only spotting slightly and am not getting anything on the pad . It's not over yet until it's over ! Trying to keep positive here!
Also just remembered that while trying to get a diagnosis for my illness a rheumatologist run a bunch of tests and said there didn't seem to be markers of any autoimmune illnesses and I'd be very unlikely to have one later on. Don't know ...

Siarie · 30/07/2014 19:58

Nordic I would have thought it would be due to a variety of other things then, loads of other causes (lining defects, foetus wasn't viable, not enough progesterone, too short luteal phase). FX this one is sticking for you! x

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 20:03

Yes who knows siarie. I had a mc at 9w and a d&c and they didn't find anything wrong in the samples they looked at . Perfectly normally developed the heartbeat just stopped after being there at 7 w . That one was a hard one of my mc . Having seen it on the scans twice ...

Siarie · 30/07/2014 20:05

Thanks I believe things happen for a reason even if sometimes it's hard to accept and move forward, but right now every things looking positive for you :)

MrsG12345 · 30/07/2014 20:10

Can I please join? We've been trying for our first since December. BFF due 10th August hopefully. Good luck to everyone else and congrats to all of you lucky ladies who've had a bop. It must be the best feeling in the world! Xx

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 20:18

I find it hard if I don't know what the reason is or what to do about it . Trying for our daughter was5 y of living hell but we did get her in the end if not the traditional way. I'm a pretty determined person and can't really see myself giving up on this baby either. Just can't do surrogacy now and Ivf seems futile with my track record so feel stuck in a rut .
Welcome mrsg!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 30/07/2014 23:02

Gosh Nordic I go off to black gang chine for the day and come back to your bfp! Super news! Definitely right to stay positive.

I have spent the whole day feeling really sick entertaining children Grin I've actually felt very pg today! Alas I haven't got a test! Bfp due earliest tomorrow. So if I don't wake up with af I'll save my fmu and go in hunt of a chemist! Grin

Nordicmom · 30/07/2014 23:25

Good luck MrsE!!
I'm feeling pessimistic about this faint BFP though since now have spotting that continues and the cramps that i've had for days too . Add the sciatica and I have been in pain from hell all night :(.
