Hi we have a large family and 4 years ago my husband had a vasectomy but now we want another baby. I'am 38 and the hubby is 51. We will pay private but are there rules on ages does anyone know and the amount of children you already have x

A swift google suggests that, since you're paying privately, there are unlikely to be restrictions. That it was only done 4 years ago is a plus, as the longer ago, the less likely it is to succeed. But do be aware that there are, and can be, no guarantees.

Good luck. :)

NHS does not provide reversals (except in rare, exceptional cases) and AFAIK private providers do not have any blanket restrictions on eligibility.

There are two issues: one is reconnecting the plumbing (success depends on method of original vasectomy, how much tubing was removed and whether it was cauterised). The other (on which there is still debate) is the increased likelihood of a vasectomised man producing anti-sperm antibodies. I hope it works for you. But if it doesn't ICSI (possibly with TESE) might be a further option.
