Have got stabby right pelvic pain and EWCM so did an ovulation test with clear blue digital which got me a Smile. Seems promising. But I am on CD65. Is this been technically possible or is it all a massive red herring??

Even technically possible, that should read...

Yes it must be true. I don't think you can get a false opk positive.

Although you are on day 65, my mind is boggling. Someone sensible will be along soon I'm sure.

I suggest you jump your OH pretty sharpish!

Could you be pregnant? You get positives from ovulation sticks in pregnancy.

berberana · 18/07/2014 22:41

Not pregnant, I've been testing for the last 30 days, most recently on day 62! Had my fingers crossed that was reason for long cycle but it's definitely not!

I ov'd last year on CD67 and got pregnant that cycle, though unfortunately it ended in a mc. So definitely possible to ov that late!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 19/07/2014 19:23

All that has shown is a rise in LH levels which happens more than once in a cycle. Such a rise too is not necessarily followed by ovulation and at day 65 ovulation now is unlikely.

Thanks Metalhead, hope things are going ok for you now. We've not let the opportunity to ttc pass us by so I guess as usual it's a case of "wait and see". I'd already made a doctors appt for Tuesday to discuss long cycle and check whether everything is ok so not sure whether to go anyway or wait and see whether I have a period in a couple of weeks. Hmm, dither...

Hi. After a MMC last year I ovulated on day 67 (rise in temp confirmed it) and got AF 14 days after that. I had experienced multiple surges during the 67 days though some of which ended as functional cysts on my ovaries (confirmed via transvaginal scans)

Is it unusual for you to have such long cycles? I think you should perhaps seek some advice as there may be an underlying medical issue which needs treatment (maybe PCOS?)

Sorelip · 20/07/2014 18:20

Happened to me and DS1 is now 2 1/2.

berberana · 21/07/2014 13:47

I did have a tentative diagnosis of PCOS about 15 years ago but the scans never really backed it up - periods often fairly irregular although not this long. I conceived my first child very easily around 4 years ago and happened to mention PCOS to sonographer at 20 wk scan who had a look and said ovaries looked completely clear. I will def mention all this to GP though in case it's all gone haywire!
