I have had a letter through from the hospital today about an appointment at a FH/Lipid clinic, I am ttc, so far the blood test and the one where they put a dye up your tubes, (which I cant remember what its called) have come back normal, I cried last time I went to see the consultant mostly thru frustration that I still had no answers as to why im not getting pregnant :( Im on clomid 100mg cd 2-6 which ive just finished taking. Ive looked online and I cant find that much information about what a fh/lipid clinic is all about, so im hoping someone on here can shed some light please? Has anyone ttc been sent to one and what happened?

I don't the answer but don't sit there worrying or searching the net. Call the hospital and ask for some clarity! Docs are sometimes terrible at explaining because they're so busy. And best of luck, TTC is awful sometimes.

Thanks for your reply, I cant help but research, guess years of ttc does that, always wanting to know more! I have found someone asking the same question and saying that its to do with cholesterol and fats in the blood? And possible test for PCOS.

Have you had your cholesterol checked? In our neck of the woods, FH is familial hypercholesterolaemia, and not specific to TTC. Try not to worry and call up to get some clarity on Monday morning.

Yes it could be but do yourself a favour and get the actual proper information from the doc. Just tell them you need to rely on accurate medical advice rather than the web. Good luck.

So after all the hassle of trying to get the hospital to send me what bloodwork they actually wanted, I had a message left saying that it had been sent in error and I didn't need one! So ive been and had my appointment with the fertility consultant, and she said she had referred me to start iui treatment and had I heard back yet as she sent a letter off in may, obviously not, so she phoned up the local clinic and it looks like December is going to be when I hear from them, I hope its for an appointment in Dec and not just a letter to wait more months :/ Said she would try and chase it up and get me a quicker appointment, but it seems to be the same in all places atm. I am going to be referred to prince phillip hospital in llanelli, I don't know if anyone else is local to me? Im trying to find out how many cycles of iui that they offer through nhs funding in this area, looking on the local health board does not give me much info :/ She has asked me to have 2 blood tests done during my cycle, to make sure I am ovulating, that would be the icing on the cake thou, regular periods and no ovulation, could life be that cruel to me? Most probably!
