When to start fertility testing?

Hi,

I have bought a pack of fertility tests to try and work out when I am fertile. I have only had 2 periods since having my DS. The gap between them was 38 days (yikes I know!). Anyway according to the instructions the packet says for 38 days you don't need to start testing till around day 21 - hmmm that seems a bit late for me.

As I have only had one 'gap' between periods so far I am not sure when to start!

Well ,if they are internet cheapie ones and you have loads then you could start at around day 12( in case your cycle is shorter this month) , if you did one then and there is no hint of a second line then you could do another in a couple of days. As soon as you start to see a second line then test daily, some people test twice a day as the surge can show up in the evening. Use your cm as a guide if you can as the closer you get to ovulation the wetter it gets . With a 38 day cycle you could be ovulating as early as day 22 or later depending on your lp. Hope this helps.
