Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice please as to whether I need to be concerned about my periods returning (or not) after coming on the pill yet?
I finished Microgynon April 17th 2014, had the usual withdrawal bleed and then three days of bleeding in the first week of June - nothing since.
I'm 30 and TTC for the first time, I was on the pill for 10-12 years.
Will my GP be able to do anything at this point or is it not worth the visit?
Thank you Smile

My periods were all over the place after coming off the pill. I had acupuncture to fix them and conceived no problem. I might have conceived with them all over the place though for all I know as I didn't try till they were sorted.

Hi minkett, I'm trying to conceive aswell and have just asked a similar question about periods as I have had a coil removed!!! I am no expert as it's my first time too but I wish you the very best of luck and let's keep our fingers crossed we are with child soon!

It took 9 months for my periods to go back to normal after coming off microgynon at 30 after 13 years. They were just all over the place- I would expect a period and it would take weeks to arrive and then the next one would turn up 2 weeks later. Sorry- probably not what you wanted to hear.

I did conceive though and we have a dd now, but I remember it being annoying at the time! Good luck.

Thanks for your replies, nice to know its normal (although still frustrating!)

I'm just conscious of the fact the doctors won't look into anything until we've been trying for a year so wasn't sure if they would start that from when I've been off the pill or from when my periods have been regular?

Good luck to you too Bella, hopefully it won't take too long!
