Opinions on DTD

Hello, so TTC #1, first day of last period was 23.6.14, and according to ovulation calendars etc I should be ovulating between 6-11 July. Hubby and I DTD 6th, 8th, 10th..........is this enough? One more try? Not often enough? Hubby works away so trying to make most of this window of opportunity! Thanks in advance x

Hi, unless you have used opk's which was tell you pretty much when you ovulated - you shouldn't just base on calendars as you could ovulate later than you realise.

The best advice is to DTD every other day so if you are ovulating at any time you can catch.

The first time I tried I based on calendars and nothing happened, 2nd cycle I used opk's and found I was ovulating earlier than I realised and managed to catch. Sadly I had a mc but we are trying again and using opk's and found again I ovulate earlier than I realised.

Keep DTD and enjoy it!!!! It's too easy to be obsessed about it and it piles the pressure on.

Next time I'd start two days earlier. I'd also give it one more more go this month.

Hi both, thanks for commenting! Definitely would have started 2 days earlier but I was away for the weekend so wasn't anything i could do, also used an opk on 6th and got a positive result! I know chances a ridiculously low every cycle, read somewhere each couple only has 20% chance each cycle, but this is the first month in a while hubby has been home anywhere near the right time!!
