39yr old TTC first 6months

Hi all, first time poster here! Just wanted to hear from anyone going through same as me so I know I am not alone! We are TTC #1, came off microgynon in January and been trying since. Cycles started at 43, 36, 34, 31 and last one was 30 days. I know my age may impact on how long, or even if, it takes to get preg. Any one else out there had similar?

No personal experience but if you're over 35 and have been TTC for 6 months you should be going to your GP to be referred for investigations. Good luck with it.

Hi - I'm TTC and I'm 38. We've been trying for a few months but have decided to be pretty chill about it but then I've got a really full life so if it happens, that's good but I'm determined not to be sad if not. Also, I do think this whole 'losing fertility after 35' is over egged haha. Most of my friends have had kids after 37. Its after 40 I think it starts to get quite a bit tougher, but I know two women who had babies at 41.

Anyway as my husband and I are quite lazy :) we've been using OPKs to just make sure we can be as efficient as possible while we try. I've got cheap ones from Amazon and more expensive ones - I use the cheap ones, then when I start to get a hint of a positive reading I switch to Clearblue. I should be getting a smiley face tomorrow I think with luck.

If no joy with this more detailed method for another 6 months I think we'll go to the Docs. My cycle is reasonably short, shorter than when I was young - about 26 days I think on average. I normally OV at around day 14.

I know this isn't answering your questions but my older friends all got pregnant within a year. Just be clever on your timing & look after your health/ watch your body and you should be okay. Well that's what I'm hoping! I've never before spent so much time checking myself out.

Oh yes its TTC No 1 for us too if that's not obvious!
