Can anyone help? When to get fertility blood test done

Can anyone help? Been advised to get a blood test to check fertility/hormone levels. GP said 7 days before my period is due but I've been irregular for the past few months. When should I go? I heard that 7dpo is the best time. I got a peak fertility smiley on cd18 and then cd19. Ovulation pains cd19 (although they do say ov can take place antytimr in the next 12-36 hours I think). My question - when should I have my blood test - cd26 (tomorrow) or later? Or should I go by my cycle from last month?

Help!

Hi Happily I had a similar situation when trying to decide when to get these tests done, the first time I went off Drs advice and had blood taken on CD21, which was only 4DPO, and the results suggested I wasn't ovulating. Rebooked them again to have them done 7DPO for me, which was about CD24, and they came back ok, so I would book them in for whatever is 7DPO for you! If you are concerned you could book some in for 5DPO, 7DPO and 9DPO. I think the DPO is more important than days before period is due, I think alot of Drs work off of a 28 day cycle, which alot of women don't have! Good luck!

Thanks Ginger, appreciate that. My opks showed peak fertility over two days but I'm just having trouble pinning ovulation down (apparently ov pain does not automatically mean you ovulate immediately afterwards - it can precede ovulation or come just afterwards?)

Think I'll go with ov day cd19 which makes 7dpo cd26 - tomorrow. Fingers crossed that's accurate enough! X
