OPKs positive for 5 days, WTF?!?

Hi all

Background is we are sort of TTC (basically a few months of not obsessing about it!) and last month we DTD once around OV and then I had a normal (for me) period (1 day heavy flow and then 2/3 days of light flow). I am now on CD18 and since CD13 I have had strong positive OPKs every day (except Sunday as I forgot to take one).

I have tried to test with water which gives a control line but no other response and I have tested with very weak urine after lots of water and its still a really strong line. On top of all this I have had really painful tummy cramps yesterday and today (and not linked to anything else like D&V), at one point I could not sit down as it was painful and I felt really sick. Also been feeling lightheaded and woozy at times. But to be clear, none of these things in themselves are majorly worrying, just feel a bit odd (apart from the tummy cramps which do really hurt at times)

Anyone got any idea what might be going on with me?

Thanks!

looks like you were right nofool and I am rather confused right now.

Terrys Could it be that you had implantation bleeding rather than a period?

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 10:04

but it felt like a proper period, flow wise. the only thing different, which I didn't think too much of at the time as it was my first period post pill, was that I had no period pains. I had 1 day of heavy flow and then 3 days of lighter flow and it was all bright red??

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 10:56

Congratulations, OP!

Have you any idea how far along you might be?

Siarie · 08/07/2014 11:12

Well whatever it is, congratulations! :D

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 11:13

no opies I have no idea!! that's what's really confusing, and I don't really feel like I can be happy or celebrate until I get over the shock and find out wtf is going on!!

Well, I guess theres a couple of things you could do.

Get one of those fancy expensive digital hpt's that tell you in words how pregnant you are.

Or go to your GP and ask them to refer you to your local EPU for a scan.

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 13:19

Opies I have done both - spoke to GP who is referring me to EPU for an early scan in the next few days.

And I just took a digital test and it says 2-3 weeks pregnant, I last DTD 10 days ago and then before that 28 days ago so I am even more confused, I wonder if its because its not FMU and I've been drinking loads as water so its not as strong and therefore should be 3 weeks+? Is this possible??

I can't see how I would get 2-3 weeks if last time had been a proper period and I conceived 11 days ago as the result is the time from conception???

Siarie · 08/07/2014 13:31

I don't know if this is even possible and certainly I don't want to sound negative, but is there a chance you might have had a MC? Or is it too long after for the hormone to still be there? xx

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 13:35

siarie that is also what I'm concerned about. I don't know what the test might show if that were the case Confused

1 day heavy flow then 2/3 days light flow could well be a heavy implantation bleed, even if it's the same as your periods are usually. The digital tests aren't always accurate on the weeks. Hope all is well OP and congratulations Smile

mummytoalittleactress · 08/07/2014 14:08

I've heard that OPK's can show up as positive for pregnancy as well as ovulation, which could explain your 5days of positive OPK's?

I know some women can experience bleeding in early pregnancy and mistake it for a period, I'm wondering if this is the case with you? My friend experienced some on and off bleeding during her pregnancy and went on to have a healthy baby btw.

You will find out at the scan just how far along you are.

Congratulations that you got your BFP and fx crossed for you.
