DW’s niece is getting married on 17 September. For reasons I need not go into, her family are certain that (1) she is without previous sexual experience with her intended or anybody else (2) she will TTC at once (3) the date has been chosen to be the best point of her cycle. We are all (the women as much as the men) joking among ourselves about when to expect the First Instalment of what may be a big family.

So can anyone please tell me: if she hits the button that very night what would be the likely due date? I know of course that due dates mean very little, but I would be amused to know.

Thanks – and good luck to you all. My DS is nearly thirty but I know how your anxious OHs feel while they are waiting for the good news – been there, done that, used to have the sicked-on T-shirts!

Round about 1 July, if it's a 40 week pregnancy. But no guarantees, of course! :)

Andrewofgg · 06/07/2014 16:33

Thank you OldLady - very grateful!

What an odd way to choose your wedding date

WowserBowser · 06/07/2014 17:55

Well I'm glad all the family are keeping themselves informed. Maybe they could video it for you all too.

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 06/07/2014 18:00

One of the strangest posts I've ever read.

ivoryblankets · 06/07/2014 18:02

You all are actually discussing this? Isn't that a bit weird?

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 06/07/2014 18:04

Do you have a sweepstake going?

Andrewofgg · 06/07/2014 18:05

Fattyfattyyumyum she's an odd young woman.

ivoryblankets Only in a light-hearted and amused way. We all wish her well.

Keep us posted! Grin

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 06/07/2014 18:11

Omg, the most bizarre post ever! E

Aprilray · 06/07/2014 22:14

So what if the stress in the lead up to the wedding delays her cycle, it did mine....will they postpone the wedding?!

OldLadyKnowsSomething · 07/07/2014 01:46

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, they date 40 weeks from last period. If she has a regualar 4 week cycle, that would put her due date more mid June.

But as I said originally, no guarantees. Grin

Andrewofgg · 07/07/2014 06:00

No Aprilray they are odd bit not quite as odd as that!

Grin At wowser! This is so beyond weird I actually believe it's real Wink

Hmm

Weirdos!

Grin
Andrewofgg · 07/07/2014 06:22

It is real, and we won't be pissed off if she does not have DCs at all.

As for stress, she is serene and calm . . . everyone within a mile of her is stressed out but she is serene and calm.

OP posts:
STOPwiththehahaheheloling · 07/07/2014 06:24

Why is everyone stressed? Confused

Andrewofgg · 07/07/2014 07:22

Because bless her heart she causes stress in others. She is high maintenance in terms of worry. Meanwhile her sister is due at the end of this month and just gets on with it . . . You all know both types!

OP posts:
STOPwiththehahaheheloling · 07/07/2014 07:35
Hmm

You get a humpy face for telling me what i 'know'. As bad as those awful ads.

Maybe if other people didnt concern themselves so much in bride-to-be's life (her fucking menstrual cycle FCOL!) then they'd find themselves less stressed?

Andrewofgg · 07/07/2014 08:24

STOP She has been announcing it from the bloody rooftops - like I say she is a funny type. So of course her rellies are nattering about it.

DW's family are close, loving, supportive and child-friendly, and we all love her and her sister, and that includes me, and I've known them all their lives. But I can see what an unusual type the engaged one is!

OP posts:
NutcrackerFairy · 07/07/2014 09:22

But why are you trying to work out the possible due date?

Have you all got a sweepstakes going?

Thumbwitch · 07/07/2014 09:28

Gosh! Well, just, erm gosh! What an odd thing to do. She must have a very regular cycle to be able to pinpoint her maximum fertility date with such certainty!

If I were you, and you are indeed putting in for a sweepstake, I'd go for around the year mark. OldLady has given you the correct area for a 40w gestation, starting from her last menstrual period (which we can assume is ~3rd September, I suppose?) - but I think it will be around a year going off my parents' experience! Grin

Um. I can't imagine letting that sort of info out about my wedding, everyone will be sitting smirking worse than usual! They're not having the ceremonial checking of the sheets and everything as well, are they? To prove her virginal status? Wink

eurochick · 07/07/2014 09:30

This is one of the most bizarre threads I have ever read on MN. And that is a pretty high bar.

lettertoherms · 07/07/2014 09:33

Well.

You'll have to come back in a year now and tell us the outcome, you know.

STOPwiththehahaheheloling · 07/07/2014 10:57

Ok so for reasons that you need not go into actually means DN has been shouting from the rooftops (in a serene and calm manner) that she is a virgin who will be TTC on her wedding night and that the date was chosen (when was it chosen?) to be right when she is ovulating?

Okaaaay then.

Again. Weirdos!
