Hi,

Please could anyone offer some advice.

My husband is due to go this week for a vasectomy reversal, but we are staring to have second thoughts. We already have 3 children and he had the Vasectomy, 3 years ago. Since then alot has changed and we really now want another baby.
We are having second thoughts mainly because of the cost ad the success rate and then we will have to change our car for a bigger one, which is another expense. Is anyone aware of how successfull vasectomy reversals are? The consultant seemed qiite positive but I ma not so sure.

Many Thanks!

God what a dilema. Don't envy your choices at present. Although you say you want another child you have noted three reasons not to. You need to sit down and really talk about this. Ihave three kids and have in the past few years thought about another, in the end we decided to be happy with what we had and to concentrate on giving them the best we can.

I don't know the stats at all but a very good friend of mine's husband had it done successfully but his sperm has problems now anyway... "it kills itself" (due to the vasectomy, body feels sperm is a foreign element and it kills it)... so they have to go trough ICSI (£4000 a go!) to concieve so even if it is successful it still does not mean you concieve...
