I think we should see our doctor, TTC #1 for12months, I am 30.
Did you go on your own or as a couple?
What did doctor do?
AF started today, I feel suprisingly sad about it, time for action I fear.

I went on my own initially and got referred for blood tests. the doctor then advised me to get DH to come in and get referred for sperm sample. Maybe it would have been easier to go together, but as I wasn't sure what was going to happen I thought it was easier for me to go in first.

I think we might just go together then, it may save the doc having to have two diff consultations.
Wishing you pregnancy luck snow.

We went together and I think that worked well. Got everything booked at the same time, both beard the same information and felt like a problem shared rather than something I had on my own.

He has to be willing though, if you force him then it could be more difficult than it needs to be!

Hi jillybeee I went recently on my own and was told that they wouldn't book any tests in until I'd made an appointment for me and dh to be seen together. There might be different procedures to follow for different GP surgeries but, for my GP surgery at least, they want to talk to both partners before booking tests. I left the surgery feeling like I'd wasted an appointment tbh, so would definitely recommend going together if at all possible.

I went on my own and was referred for blood tests but DP had to make an appt with his GP (we're registered with different surgeries) for a sperm test. Personally I prefer to go on my own as DP just doesn't seem to understand there's a problem, we've also been ttc first baby for a year now. He's still of the opinion it will happen. I really do think it's because it's drummed in to you for years as a youngster that's its easy to get a girl pregnant so he's still of that mindset.

Hi

I went on my own partly as dh had to go away with work very late notice. It was fine, she just did my bp and told me to book in with phlebotomist and wait for a referral for a scan. Dh then went to see her on his own to get his sample pot. Just waiting for results. So far I've had 2 blood tests, an internal (similar to smear) and an ultrasound. He's just had to produce a sample in a pot. Don't think it really matters as not many do anything there and then with the tests.

My GP has said when we want to take the next steps and get tested we need to go together
