Confused about pelvic scan appointment

GP referred me for a pelvic scan due to no periods for 10 months. He said it would be a transvaginal one which I would need to by bladder for. The appointment is tomorrow and have just had another look at the letter and it says I need a full bladder. Will they do an abdominal scan first, then get me to empty my bladder for the transvaginal one or have I been referred for the wrong scan?

For transvaginal it needs to be empty. I would go with a full bladder incase the scanner wants to look from on top first. There is normally a toilet just outside the room. Just ask when you arrive.

Transvaginal is normally to look at the ovaries.

PCOS is diagnosed on cysts plus other symptoms.

I have PCOS and when I was scanned on the pill there were no cysts, 2 months of being off the pill and there were cysts everywhere on both ovaries. The cysts were very obvious on the scan.

so could it be the start of pcos and the cysts will become obvious over time? I am hypothyroid, struggle to lose weight although am within a healthy bmi, always had hairy arms, hairy toes, few hairs around belly button and nipples etc but no sure if its what you'd call excessive, feel tired constantly despite 8 hours sleep, spotty back, a few facial spots here and there.
