Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Af defo arrived, therefore cycle 1 51 days, cycle 2 25 days. Going to do another 1 without ovulation kits and just app. I'm using fertility friend. It seems pretty good but might try ovia as well. Gosh had forgotten how tiring a real af is!

I hope the Ovia app doesn't send us all off course after I recommended it :-/ although I did run it alongside another one and it does seem fairly good.

I am just finishing a really light / barely there period. Since I've come off the pill, each period I've been having 2 days of medium flow followed by two incredibly light days. Prior to going on the pill 12 years ago, I used to have 5-6 days of fairly heavy flow and would often flood. (Sorry TMI!)

I've been reading up on this today and lots of internet sources were saying that you might get this after coming off BC or once you get over 30, and not to worry about it. Anyone else noticed any changes?!

Yes justyouwait I've ebbing humming and harring over what I though would be proper period action and it amounted to nothing more than very very light spotting i.e. the pinky brown stuff you seen when wiping, that doesn't need a tampon or anything but normally let's you know AF is on the way.

Well, I took my last cerazette on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday night had the light brown/pink stuff above and prepared myself for fully blown AF to follow but it hasn't as of yet. Going to start temping/charting tomorrow.

Does anyone know when to start counting when coming off cerazette, since you don't have a withdrawal bleed is the first day of not taking it counted as CD1?!

mzzzf i finished a pack of cerazette then started counting from the first day of what would have been the next pack. Not sure if that's correct or not though...?

Hi both so I came off loestrin and has withdrawal bleed so counted that as day 1. But sure if u don't get a bleed though, from my experience it might take a while to have ur 1st proper cycle do I would just count day 1 as first day off pill and see what happens. I finished early may. Cycle 1 51 days, cycle 2 25 days :-)

I really recommend the Kaz Cooke book BTW for anyone looking for a week by week one. It's funny and down to earth and it compares your baby's size to various food items every week

Cheers for the info lovelies! I'd kinda thought to count from first pill free day but good to have some others in the same boat.

Currently I'm suffering some cracking headaches, they kicked in on Saturday night and are still hovering. You just don't realize the changes your body has been adapting too when you're full of extra hormones! Although I was fine on cerazette it makes me think I don't want to take it again - if only there was a male pill!!

mzzzf I came off Cerazette on the same day as you, still no bleed but I'm with you on the headaches, so bloody annoying. I've got no idea when to start counting for cycles and things so I've just been playing with the Ovia app - when something appears I'll log it and let the app try and work it all out!

well AF has finally arrived for me which is good. Can get down to business properly now i know everything is working!

Good news on af catnip. Our cycles may well b v close I'm on day 4 today so depending on how longs urs our we might have same 2 wks window can try and keep each other sane!

Hi everyone! I'm 34 and a newbie on mumsnet so I apologise if I'm not up to scratch with the correct acronyms and terminology :-) Myself and my partner decided we were going to start ttc about 6 weeks ago. I took my last Mercilon bc pill on Sunday after about 14 years on and off of it. I am currently having my withdrawal bleed and then will be waiting to see when my first natural period decides to show up. I'm not sure whether to use condoms until I get my 1st period or whether to just 'get cracking'. I've read that doctors prefer you to wait until you have had your first natural period so that they can calculate a more accurate due date. However I have also heard that you can be 'super fertile' when you first come off the contraceptive pill therefore you have a good chance of falling pregnant quite quickly... Can anyone offer any advice on this? I'm not sure what to do. Thanks in advance :-)

Hi teenie, welcome to the club. I went to see the gp b4 I started they said u can try straight away no need to wait. He said some people r more fertile as u say straight away but done aren't but that u could defo fall preg immediately. I just started ttc immediately currently starting cycle 3 so didn't work for me but it must for some

Hi everyone wedding congrats. In 6 weeks ill be celebrating my 1st year of wedding bliss. No baby news im afraid. Took test this monring and NO BFP.??also no AF. Last saw her in may so not sure whats uo. Off the the gp on Tuesday. Wish I coild say starting cycle 2 but cannot tell given AFvgss gone awall. I've always been like a swiss watch 28 days regularly. Even when I took a break it took 1 month to get back to normal. So frustrated right now.

Oh how annoying freedom I wish you well with the gp. I'm praying I'm now in a rythem this is cycle 3 of the pill but we'll see

DP and I have decided to start TTC. Annoyingly, DP is working abroad so have to wait a couple more weeks before we can start trying but by that stage he'll be gagging for it .

Just wondering though whether anyone used Cilest? I took my final pill last Tuesday but started bleeding on the Monday before the final pill. Usually I start bleeding on the thurs or fri. By my own admission I was pretty crap at taking the pill last month, forgot or was late taking it about 4 times. I have now just finished 11 days of bleeding. Anything similar happen to anyone else?

welcome to the group Luna I know how you feel I was bursting to tell some one but couldn't share with friends an did not want to overload DH.it's the perfect place to rant, offload or just offer encouragement to others waiting for their BFP.

Poor DH even offered to get the little swimmers counted just to be sure. I keep telling him to relax we can panic in October. At the moment I'm drowning my sorrows in Pringles and thinking about the birthday cake I'll make him on Saturday. Thursday is Hubbies birthday.
