Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Xx

Makes sense. I am really tiny so the thought of a great big bump is a bit scary! Plus twins run on both sides of my family (DH is an identical twin) im not sure there's room for one baby let alone two (eek)

Justyouwaitandsee · 16/07/2014 22:41

I haven't given stretchmarks much thought as yet, but guess I probably should so I can be prepared. My two main issues at the moment, is making sure I get pregnant in the first place, and secondly, how I will break the news to my parents. Funnily enough, I'm not worried about telling PIL (who already have grandchildren) but just know it will be a big deal for mine, and also basically feels a bit strange to share something which is actually quite private and intimate!

Freedom40 · 17/07/2014 21:08

Hi everyone just checking in. Had a wonderful night with hubbie my last supper went well. Strange to be DTD without a condom. Hubbie had to get medication out of his system before we start trying so we're go to go now. It was really funny having sex "with a purpose" we were like nervous teenagers. he's all excited and asked if i felt any different. i had to laugh and I said to him it does not work that fast.

on the stretch marks note I agree Palmers is the best they have been around for ages and I remember my mom using it for marks from chicken pox when I was a kid. I've not used bio oil but have heard good things about it.

Justyouwaitandsee I would not worry about telling your parents. They will be excited and happy. They won't be thinking about the "how" they will be thinking about the baby itself. I know we always feel like kids to our parents and pregnancy is the one thing that screams " I'm having sex" but they will speed past that into grandparent hood.

On a final note if you have not tried reflexology give it a go. I felt so relaxed after 30 minutes and totally energized.

Hope everyone is enjoying the hot weather.

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/07/2014 22:30

Oh I know they will be, but they are a bit intense and can be a bit overwhelming. They will be overjoyed though and think I will be sidelined when grandchildren do arrive Wink Just a bit odd to imagine!

Feeling a bit disheartened tonight - AF is due on Monday and I feel totally normal (ie. not pregnant) so not feeling very hopeful, despite doing everything 'right'. Ah well, guess we will just have to wait and see! (oops not a deliberate use of my username!)

catnip85 · 18/07/2014 08:28

Glad you had a nice meal freedom!

ive had a raised body temp for a couple of days now plus other symptoms- v tired, bloated, sore nipples etc- so im hoping my test on Monday will be a bfp. Fingers crossed!

Justyouwaitandsee · 18/07/2014 19:58

Oh that sounds promising catnip! Fingers crossed!
How is everyone else getting on? Anyone else due to test soon?

Freedom40 · 21/07/2014 17:36

i'm trying not to think about it to much. should have seen AF 2 weeks ago but not ready to do a test yet as i don't feel any different. want to give it till the end of the month before i do.i highly doubt i'd get pregnant this quick.

any one else got any news??? good bad indifferent?

Siarie · 21/07/2014 18:44

I'm 5/6dpo and knackered, I don't mean oh a yawn but carry on with life tired. I mean every move off the sofa feels like a challenge, I don't work so luckily I can just lounge around if need be.

Hoping for a BFP this weekend.

Billygoats · 21/07/2014 19:04

Hi , I'm not ttc but just dropping in to say I was on Yasmin and when I stopped was worried it would take a longtime to become regular and concieve, but I was pregnant the first month. So fingers crossed for you all your just as lucky. Good luck :)

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 21/07/2014 19:08

Hello can I hop on the bandwagon?

Haven't actually started TTC yet... but have decided that I will in 3 packets' time. Bit complicated for work/house/study reasons going to wait the 3 months. I am too excited though I want to start ttc now! Never have before, been on cilest for 7.5yrs. I hope I am fertile!

Are any of you taking supplements/did you before you stopped bc? I am thinking whether I should be taking folic acid now before I stop.

So excited to hear all your BFP news!

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 19:08

Ooh thanks billygoats thats good to know!

siarie lucky you not having to work!

Ooh freedom - I couldn't wait that long! Surely you can justify doing a test when you are that overdue?! These things do happen.

My AF is provisionally due today (day 28) but hasn't appeared as yet, and didn't come until Day 30 last month.

I got a negative result with a First Response on Saturday, going to leave it a day or so to see if AF comes, and if not will take another. I am limiting myself to two tests per month.

Don't feel much in the way of symptoms...

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 19:13

Welcome wanttobeamummy! I only stopped the pill just over a week ago but started taking 'trying for a baby vitamins straight away. I like these as they come in a packet a bit like the pill with days on so i now take these at the same time I used to take my pill :). I think its recommended that you start taking folic acid 3 months before trying to conceive so it probably wouldnt be a bad idea for you to start now.

Hi wanttobeamummy and welcome! I would agree entirely with the advice of teachermummy2b - good to have you join our small but perfectly formed group!

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 21/07/2014 19:25

Guess i should be on the lookout for folic acid then! my OH thinks we should just 'bump uglies and see what happens' he thinks the vitamins etc is a load of rubbish but I am trying to persuade him otherwise! My mum is an o&g but i dont want her to know we are thinking of trying just yet so annoying i cant ask her qns!

About us: I am 23, he 25, married for nearly a year :)

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 19:31

Folic acid is very important as it reduces the risk of the baby having a neural tube defect. Only you need to take this. Neither my husband or I are taking any additional vitamins but I wouldn't skip the FC.

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 21/07/2014 19:37

Yes I know, I have been trying to explain this to my OH! Luckily my O&G mum has already told me all about this in the past so I said that to him in the hope he might think it more beliveable ;)

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 20:14

Oooh freedom & justyouwait sounds like you are both in with a chance! I think it's really hard ttc straight after the pill cos none of us know if af is truly late as in bfp or just taking her sweet time due to stopping the pill... I'm telling myself not to expect af for a few months and will try not to test until i have symptoms (or so she says right now...) Good luck everyone.

BertieBotts · 21/07/2014 20:20

I've finished taking mine but we're not really trying yet. We need to get some tests done because DH has some genetic issues in his family, and it's taking ages to get the tests sorted out so condoms for now. However one leaked the other day and we haven't bothered to get MAP. Still, unlikely anything will come of one time.

I have a DS from a previous relationship but he was an accident Blush so not done the whole TTC thing before. It's exciting and I want them to hurry up and sort out the testing for us Grin

ohlordyplordy · 21/07/2014 20:29

I took my last pill 4th July. Had a withdrawl bleed a few days later; awaiting real AF.
I've been on the pill over 10 years and was really irregular, so worried how long it's going to take to develop a cycle, if at all.
I'm 33 and this is our first time ttc.

catnip85 · 21/07/2014 20:36

Well it was a bfn for me this morn, although no AF yet either... Feel a bit disappointed but not too bad as wasn't really expecting my cycle to get back to normal for a few months. Today would be day 29

im taking seven seas ttc vitamins as ive heard they can help regulate things

catnip85 · 21/07/2014 20:38

PS- welcome to all you newbies!

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 21:49

I just took another FR test and still a BFN. My DH asked "what did we do wrong?" Sad Still no AF, but am hoping that at least I might be able to confirm a regular 30 day cycle...(looking for a bright side!) I guess we wait for AF and look onwards to month 5!

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 21:50

Ps. We're in this together catnip!

catnip85 · 22/07/2014 07:14
