Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

That's what we're here for! Still no AF for me but now hoping it will come soon as I at least want to know I'm back on a regular cycle.

I also bought some Conceive Plus last night. Lots of testimonials from people trying for months who then conceived within the first month of using CP. Anyone else trying this?

And just realised we a supposed to be on holiday with my family (with not much privacy) around the peak time next month...and the month after that we start risking a due date which collides with some important family and friends weddings next Summer! So much to think about, especially when you have no idea how long it is likely to take!

Justyouwaitandsee · 23/07/2014 20:53

So Freedom / Catnip - any sign of AF or BFP for either of you? Are you still waiting to test Freedom?

Still no AF and yet another BFN for me today. The wait continues!

catnip85 · 24/07/2014 07:11

No news from me im afraid AF still hasn't shown up and i haven't done another test yet, thought i might wait a wk or two and see how i feel. Sounds like were in the same boat justyouwait

weirdly though i still have a high bbt- nearly a degree higher than usual- 36.2 36.3 is about right and im getting 36.8-36.9 every day at the moment. Lots of cramping too. Does anyone know if changing vitamins can cause an increase in bbt? It happened about the same time i switched on to seven seas.

freedom and siarie how are you doing?

Siarie · 24/07/2014 10:09

Hello Ladies,

Sorry for the delay, I was just about to update you all. So my AF is due Wednesday and I am now 8/9 DPO. On the positive side I think I had implantation cramps yesterday. If it wasn't that then my body really is trying to fool me, I had a nice temp dip too which gives all the right signs for it.

So that means that HCG should now be pumping through my body and it will take a few days to double enough to be read on the most sensitive test. I really hope that I do get a BFP this weekend or the start of next week as I just feel like implantation was a key sign.

If it doesn't happen thats OK but I wish I didn't get the light cramps as that possibly means it didn't stick. I know my body well and I know when I'm being tricked. I know that anything before implantation is most likely your hormones and the change there. But implantation cramps I had that last time I was pregnant and I just know.

So right now I'm feeling positive, even If i don't get my BFP this cycle then I will be happy that I did my best and I get to drink wine and coffee.

I'm going to read back through all your posts now xx

Siarie · 24/07/2014 10:14

If you girls aren't using OPK's to monitor your LH surge you should, it was the best thing for me. After taking BC which stopped me ovulating (the whole purpose of my pill) I was keen to see that happen again.

With my OPK's it meant I know for sure I ovulated along side temping my BBT which confirmed it. That means that I know AF must come or a BFP one way or the other and that my body is doing what it should be doing (even if it took a while this time to ovulate).

It's reassuring and I highly recommend it, doesn't take that much commitment but it stops you being stuck in limbo wondering what is going on xx.

catnip85 · 24/07/2014 17:54

Might just do that, my tempings all over the shop!

mzzzf · 24/07/2014 18:26

Evening ladies

I'm going to gatecrash onto your thread if that's ok! I'm about to take my last BC pill tomorrow morning - arrrrgh! I'm 33 and thinking that the time is kinda right to find out if we can grow a little person.

Kind of scary thinking about it, all the usual things of "Am I ready?", "Will it happen straight away?" Won't it happen straight away?" etc are already in my head and hence the reason I'm on here.

Loaded up and ready to start recording temperature and pee on many sticks, for me if I can make it scientific it'll help my own sanity, although I feel I have to say this doesn't refer to DTD - "proceed at a 30 degree angle" Grin

Excited to see what will happen but also anxious because I don't know what is going to happen, if you see what I mean!

My biggest scary monsters part is going to be giving up the caffeine... Sad

Justyouwaitandsee · 24/07/2014 19:17

Sounds like it catnip! Just found myself explaining to the checkout girl in sainsburys why I wanted a twin pack of tests rather than just a single. She looked at me as if I was slightly mad (before the explanation not after!) still no sign of AF.

siarie - we did use OPKs this month, and I did get a positive reading but still not certain it's worked this time.

And hello mzzzf - welcome to the group! If you read back a few pages you will see that I wrote an almost identical post to yours. Wishing you lots of luck!

SecretSquirrel01 · 24/07/2014 20:39

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't checked in recently, been run off my feet!

Gosh, an exciting couple of weeks coming up then girls. Fingers crossed siarie, justyouwait and catnip! Any news freedom? I so hope at least one of us gets some fantastic news soon.

Welcome newbies! Great to have you along for the ride!

I can't really work out when my af is due. Dependant on whether I go off my withdrawal bleed or the weird bleed the week after. If the second then af next tues, if withdrawal then I'm already late... Not going to get over excited though, I'm not expecting anything. Going to a hen party on 10th, so will do a test before then if no sign, just to check whether I can drink!

Keep in touch with your news my dears, I'm so excited for you all!

Katybear123 · 24/07/2014 21:31

Hi ladies can I join. Ttc # 1, currently in cycle 2. Cycle 1 51 days. Currently on day 23 of cycle assuming I have a 28 day cycle no idea if I do or not but have had to assume :-(. I think I ovulated on day 13 based on cm and we dtd at least every other day from day 6 - 16 so fingers crossed it has worked but just no way to know. Not sure when to test will defo wait till after 28 days but not sure how much longer I can go!!

Dreacat · 24/07/2014 22:08

Hello everybody! Another one in the same boat :)

My husband and I have been married 1.5 years, but were together 10 years before that, and have decided to TTC #1. I stopped my microgynon (having been on it for 15 years!) on 6th July, had my normal withdrawal bleed and now I wait to see what happens next.

Good luck to you all!

Justyouwaitandsee · 25/07/2014 17:52

Welcome all newbies! Smile
Well my period started today so definitely no baby this month. Love the Ovia app though and the way it analyses the data I enter. 32 day cycle this time, rather than last months 30 day.

catnip85 · 25/07/2014 18:06

Welcome everyone!

justyouwait annoying its not a bfp but at least AF gives you an indicator that you are def ovulating. Cant believe the checkout girl asked you that!

which opk is everyone using and are the digital ones better?

Justyouwaitandsee · 25/07/2014 19:13

I know. I think she was trying to be helpful and explain that single tests were cheaper than a twin pack. Don't think she could understand why I might need more than one.

I am using cheapie OPKs from amazon. They seemed to work fine and were easy to use. Couldn't justify the cost of the clear blue digital monitor!

BertieBotts · 25/07/2014 21:09

How long did it take you all to get a period when you first came off the pill? If I was still on I'd have been due today but no sign.

Justyouwaitandsee · 25/07/2014 21:54

I went straight back to fairly regular periods. Came off at the end of April (around the 24th I think) and had periods starting 24th may, 23rd June, 25th July... I think others take a bit longer to settle back into a routine but my periods have always been fairly regular...

catnip85 · 26/07/2014 08:52

I stopped taking the pill at the end of June but still no AF. 34 days and counting. katybear you said your first cycle was 51 days didn't you?

Siarie · 26/07/2014 08:57

Came off the pill ovulated and had a short cycle of only 23 days, almost got a BFP as I could see a line but next day AF arrived. Just not long enough luteal phase after ovulation to hold on to it I guess. I blame the pill but hoping this next month I'll have my usual 28 day cycle back and should have enough time after ovulation to keep any potential beans :(

Katybear123 · 26/07/2014 10:13

Hiya yep first cycle was 51 days, now on cycle 2, on day 25 today. I think this will b a shorter cycle as boobs already swollen have been for about a week and get odd dull ache. I'm try to convince myself that they might b a sign of a bfp as he dtd a lot from day 6 - 16. Assuming my cycle is 28 day and I think cm suggested it is should have been the right time to have been ovulating but if that isn't my cycle then had a break from dtd from day 16 -23 as got a horrid cold. Am gagging to test this month but will hold out till pass 28 days not sure if I can wait past that!

Freedom40 · 27/07/2014 18:33

welcome newbees,

catnip and justyouwaitandsee no news and still not tested. I'm not this rollercoaster of want to know don't want to know Confused. stopped BC mid May and had AF 2 days later and then nothing since then. Had some very light spotting today so I'm thinking AF is on the way. I feel fine not cramping nothing.

If nothing happens by thursday then DH and I decided to test. We had it set in our minds that it would take till September before we panic as he needs to get back on medication before winter sets in so trying to keep positive.

I bought the day by day pregnancy book from WHsmiths yesterday hid it in my closet as DH sid not to buy anything till a positive test he things it will jinxs things but I'm like a sponge for info and it was on sale.

I'm put on some weight recently which is not good but don't have the motivation to get it off knowin what's comming but hope it is no going to hinder my TTC dreams.

hows everyone else doing any news good bad indifferent????

Katybear123 · 27/07/2014 20:48

Hey everyone well I think af just got me on cycle 2 which would mean 25 days, hmmm though does spotting could as day 1 new cycle? Or is it really flow in which case maybe it's tomoz so 26 days. Hmm 25 days I'm a bit worried that seems short thought weirdly 26 days in my head seems fine!!

Freedom40 · 27/07/2014 22:37

So took the plunge and ordered clear blue opk today assuming AF will arrive tomorrow. Got a massive headache so off to bed. Time to get out the calendar and start countingHmm

teachermummy2b · 27/07/2014 23:57

freedom I have just started using the clearblue opk - have got the dual hormone one,is that the one you have? So far I have had 1 low and 2 high readings, but have read that some ladies get days and days of high before the peak, so not sure what to expect. Its only cycle 1 for me though so would be good to know if I actually ovulate this month.

justyouwait Im also using the ovia app too!

siarie I was following your progress and feeling hopeful for you, sorry it wasnt to be this time. At least you know you ovulated - it seems that after the pill it can take quite a while. Fx for an august bfp for you x

OP posts:
catnip85 · 28/07/2014 07:22

It sounds like we're all using ovia! Im also ordering opk today- need to know what's going on.

a friend who has two DC was telling me yesterday how shes starting to get rid of all her baby stuff as they wont need it anymore (shes v well off, its all gorgeous) had to stop myself from yelling I'll have it!

freedom i also did the secret book buying thing to avoid panicking DH. Kindles are fantastic ;) can you still ttc once your other half is back on his medication?

summeraupair · 28/07/2014 12:00

Can I join in? Took my last pill on Friday night.. just going to kind of let things happen. At least, that's what I've been telling myself, then found myself signing up for the latest Clearblue product test and looking at the Conceive Plus website. Far too impatient I suppose!

I'm 24 and getting married next week. Haven't had a period in four years on the pill so really no idea of any of my cycles any more... could lead to some surprises!
