Anyone else about to take the plunge and stop bc pills?

Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Welcome crazypuglady! Ditch the pills, it takes longer than you think to get back to normal and it seems from this thread only a few people get pregnant straight away, fx for you x

Thanks both, had a chat with DH tonight and I'm going to start with the folic acid and ditch the pills! Roll on symptom spotting

Well I'm hoping that the pains/cramps I woke up with this morning are a good sign that maybe I'm due to ovulate?! Has anyone else had similar signs? Will opk tonight but don't want to get too hopefull over the coming days to be left disappointed!

What opk's are you using lovebugs ... Being nosey lol

I have both the boots own ones I think there are 20 in a pack and also have a clearblue digital one which is reusable (not the sticks but the device!) I think they all do the same thing but just show different lines/smiley faces etc.

When I ov'd I has cramps and sore nips!

Ahhh ok is it the original clearblue digital or the advanced with dual hormone thingy... As I am using the advanced ones and was wondering if the original ones were less confusing(no flashing smiles) and was going to try those next month if no BFP this month.. Still getting blank circles today and nothing on the ic either I'm so impatient lol ...I've never noticed any pre ov symptoms apart from I remember getting lots of Ewcm but didn't know the significance of it then as wasn't ttc !!

It's the normal digital one! I never noticed any ovulation signs before but I've had the worst stomach ache/cramps/bloating today...much worst than being on a period so hoping this is a good sign although really don't want this for 3-4days each month on top of period! Just tested with opk and still not positive but will keep trying...cm is certainly more clear but not yet at egg white stage!

No smuley face for me yet still a big O lol... Any luck your way lovebugs ?

Same here Kate! Still negative even though I had all those pains yesterday! I feel better today but tummy still feels a bit bloated and I get occasional pains. Wondering if my cycle is actually longer than the one I had when on the mini pill but don't know why it would have changed? I supposed I might not ovulate this month at all so have to prepare myself for that to happen...will keep testing and DTD every other night if we can manage it! Do we know how accurate the opk tests are?

It's so bloody frustrating isn't it lol .. I'm trying to prepare myself in case I don't get a surge as well but must admit I'll be gutted if I don't :/ ... I think they are pretty accurate but I've also read that some women simply don't produce a high enough level of lh to get a BFP ovulation line/smile so I'm going to be watching my cm closely as well because a lot of people say that's more to go by than opk's and to trust what your body is saying... Also wondering if my cycle is going to be longer than expected and therefore might ov cd16/17 .. But they say not to give up testing until cd22 so fingers crossed for us both lovebugs x

Oh my gosh Kate that's fantastic news! So happy for you! Wish I could say the same still negative for me...will keep testing daily and enjoying DTD although both DH and I are getting a bit frustrated not knowing whether I've ovulated and missed it on the tests, whether I haven't ovulated yet or if I won't at all! Crazy where your mind wanders to when we want something to happen that you have no control over! Finger crossed for you Kate and all the other ladies on here for a BFP this month xx

Hoping I'm not one of the unlucky ones that seems to get 8 days of flashing smiles and don't get their solid smiley face which indicates you've peaked and will ov soon...just wondering whether to do a cheapie at night as well just in case I get my surge later on the day as the clearblue is a morning test... Any advice on this girls ?

I'm thinking of doing the boots own ones in the morning and the clearblue digital when I get back from work but may wait until next month as they are expensive and hope once I ovulate the first time it will be similar timing in future months.

I'm so excited as I've just tested and got a big smiling face! can't believe its gone from nothing yesterday to full smile today! Have EWCM too after being very dry the last few days! Just cried with happiness which I know is silly as doesn't mean we'll be pregnant soon but I have been so worried I wouldn't be able to ovulate at all!!! DH is happy too and we are dying to head home from our weekend away with family to DTD again tonight but we did it yesterday morning so hoping a good swimmer will have survived fx

What cd are you today lovebugs ? I'm currently trying to hold my pee for 4 hours so I can do my evening test... Harder than it sounds when your not 18 anymore ha ha

Thanks Kate! I'm on day 14 counting from first day of my last period. Thinking we will DTD tonight and I'll test tomorrow as usual and try to DTD tomorrow night too just to increase the odds. I'll keep testing just for the next few days until I get a negative and suppose I'll be in the 2ww club?!

Definitely had some right side pain this evening (not easy to stand for long it's that painful!) so hoping that overy is working and releasing an egg sometime soon!
