Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

So got some bad news today. DH got test results back. Everything above normal except amount of healthy sperm. Should be 4% but is 2%. Not bad but makes things tougher. An eye opener had no idea that of all the swimmers produced you only need 4% to conceive. GP referring us to fertility clinic to see what my status is. Private medical only covers test to find put what's wrong not any treatment so I'm slightly panicking. Fitsy consultation is £175 then who knows after that. What a nightmare

Lovebugs2014 · 02/10/2014 21:28

Sorry meant *depo!

Lovebugs2014 · 02/10/2014 21:32

Sorry to hear that Freedom but try not to panick, there are lots of options either NHS or private to explore and it only takes one sperm out of millions each time you DTD! Good luck with the tests and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx

Katewright699 · 03/10/2014 15:50

Hi girls .. On cd 4 today so went out and bought a cb digital opk.. Bit confused though as every thread I've read about opk's say to test in the early afternoon but the cb clearly says to use fmu Confused they were rather expensive and I don't want to waste them testing at the completely wrong time of day, what's your take on this ladies ? Xx

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 03/10/2014 19:04

Hello all! I have an update.

Took opk for first time today and it very strong positive! Way stronger than the test line. Unfortunately DH away until Sunday, but we have dtd last Saturday and Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Will dtd on Sunday too to be sure, if I can persuade DH (he is getting tired and I think a little bored of my already obsessiveness!) I think I will ov tomorrow, or tonight, not realy sure as I havent done any other opks til today. Had definite lots EWCM - what I thought was EWCM was definitely not! All I can say is that you will know it when you see it!!

Fx we have done enough, I should be due to test 15-17 October. In the tww now!

Hope evryone else doing ok :)

Lovebugs2014 · 03/10/2014 22:49

Great news wanttobe! Hope it works and you have the first BFP of October! I'm just coming to the end if AF so hoping to start testing with ovulation kits from tomorrow but am also confused about when to test...really hope I ovulate soon as we will be DTD from tomorrow every two days just to be sure! Fx for you all xx

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 04/10/2014 09:18

Hi lovebugs! According to my opk instructions you test between 10-8 but so the aw time each time you test. I did mine at 5.30pm when got in from work. Apparently you have surge of hormones when u wake up so could be misleading I you tested then. I am cd17 but I think if no bfp this month I will test from cd7 :) af not due til 17th October for me so just got a long wait now!

Katewright699 · 04/10/2014 09:31

That's what I was thinking to do.. I'm going to test from day 7 as well seeing as I have no idea on what length my cycles are going to be now so best to start early lol !! I'm on my last day of AF as well now thank god as it was a really really heavy and painful one.the clearblue is the only opk ive seen that reccomens using fmu which is why I'm so confused about the best time to test.. I wonder if it's because it's designed to test for oestrogen as well as Lh ? I was thinking of doing an ic with second pee of the day and if there's a hint of a positive then doing a cb early evening to confirm ? Or do I just go with what cb says to do first thing in the morn ahhhhh thought it was meant to be easier not drive you bloody insane Confused anyway fx for all of you lovely ladies and let's hope October is our month Smile

Lovebugs2014 · 04/10/2014 20:53

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to test tomorrow as still finishing AF! Been the worst AF in 13 years! But pleased it came we can start testing and DTD every few days! Hoping to ovulate this month! Xx

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 04/10/2014 21:51

Good luck lovebugs! Keep us posted :)

Had negative opk this morning, confirming if I O'd it was yesterday evening/early this morning.,

Offcially in the tww... Earliest I can test is 15th.

Have v sore nipples today, headache and CM has gone thick and creamy Hmm whatever that means! Pretty sure I never got any signs of af arriving pre-pill but then I was about 14/15 and not paying much attention...

Lovebugs2014 · 05/10/2014 08:54

Fingers crossed for you wabttobe! I feel much calmer since having the AF and knowing I can now use the tests to track when ovulating as well as looking at CM...also having spent lots of time with other people's children me and DH are really appreciating our child free lives even though we hope this will change soon. I'll keep you posted with updates, will test early evening tonight and every day until I get that smiling face symbol! X

Katewright699 · 05/10/2014 09:10

Same here lovebugs !!! Just finishing off here too and readying myself to start testing tommorow :) let's hope we both get our smiley faces soon hun and catch that surge !!! Fx for you hun xxx

Lovebugs2014 · 05/10/2014 10:37

Freedom40 · 06/10/2014 18:10

Lovebugs2014 · 06/10/2014 18:23

Oh Freedom40 I really am sorry to hear that and wish you all the best for the future, fx for you to have happy news in the near future xx

Lovebugs2014 · 06/10/2014 18:30

I'm the same at you Kate, tested with ovulation sticks yesterday and today but both negative which I expected. Still enjoying DTD and hoping we can maintain this every 3 days now DH has more free time in evenings and weekends. On cd8 today so will keep testing and let you know any updates ??

Katewright699 · 06/10/2014 18:38

Sorry to hear that freedom Sad best of luck for the future... Yes me too lovebugs enjoying dtd but what with having 2 ds's the whole eod thing is too tiring lmao... Hoping to zero in on my window of opportunity Grin will keep you posted x

Justyouwaitandsee · 06/10/2014 19:31

So sorry Freedom. Please do keep in touch and keep us posted on any updates you do want to share! Fingers crossed and hoping that things work themselves out for you xx Flowers

Lovebugs2014 · 08/10/2014 12:47

Not an interesting update from me really as still no smiling face but I'm hoping that between the 9-12 October I should be ovulating! Even hubby is excited to be trying now tat he is less stressed which is great. Lots of DTD from tonight onwards! Grin

Katewright699 · 08/10/2014 13:27

Same here lovebugs no smiley yet still getting the empty circle :) how long are your cycles normally ? And are you using an app as well.to predict your fertile phase ? Funnily enough my dh is very keen as well, he's even suggested we bd tonight without me saying anything lol

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 08/10/2014 14:11

5dpo here... everything much the same (still getting loads of creamy cm, no idea what that is about or if it is normal at this time! I read you are meant to go dry after ov...)

I hate tww!

Good luck dtd and timing your smileys ladies

Lovebugs2014 · 08/10/2014 15:25

Hi Kate and wanttobe,
Exciting times for all of us but lots of waiting which I'm not good at! My cycle on the pill was 28days but have used the ovulation calculators to work out rough guide when I should ovulate and checking CM but very much dry or small amount of sticky, creamy CM (sorry TMI!) no sign of Egg white consistency yet but keeping an eye out. Just wondering what I'll feel like if still have no smiling faces in the next few days or EWCM...fx that isnt the case and I'll get some confirmation things are happening x

crazypuglady · 08/10/2014 15:39

Currently contemplating ditching the pills (it's a matter of when, not if). Been on Cerazette for 6 years and was on microgynon for 4 years before that so it's been a long time since I've had a real cycle. The pill seemed like such an easy solution but now I'm starting to worry about the long term effects. Fingers crossed I go back to a normal cycle quickly and we can stop just practising.

Katewright699 · 08/10/2014 17:56

Thanks wanttobe :) im not good with waiting either lovebugs ... I'm an impatient cow at the best of times lmao...but I'm pretty much in the same boat just waiting for something to happen either a smiley or some cm would be nice !! Can't help feeling slightly dissappointed when I see the blank circle even though it's early days and I'm being silly.lets have a smiley face and cm race lol makes a change from the sack race although technically they have the same outcome... Jumping in the sack Grin...welcome puglady... Come on ditch the pills and come and join us cluckers all manic symptom spotting ,you know you want to Wink
