Morning all,

Sorry for my negative whining yesterday. Am feeling so much better. I've filled in the cb survey, going to do ov tests more next cycle and also give temping a try, also figured dtd more is a crucial part to ttc!! Who'd have guessed it!

cinnamon it's all sounding positive even with the bfns.

Hello to everyone who joined yesterday, hope you have a good journey.

Nordicmom · 02/07/2014 08:02

Bfn on cb on 10 dpo . Hate this waiting

notoasthere · 02/07/2014 08:07

Still early nordic and cb notoriously awkward, so it doesn't mean there isn't a chance.

The local nct are funding the group, but it was my idea and I've set everything in to motion. I set up a local breastfeeding support group on fb which has saved quite a few breastfeeding relationships in the year it's been running so I'm hoping to do the same with the 'real life' group. Fingers crossed!

BrixtonBunny · 02/07/2014 08:11

Well despite my promise to myself that I'd wait I poa frer this morning - woke up around 5am and had the urge to. Obviously it was bfn. Hmm Think given af is due in 3 days and I'm 13dpo that's not a good sign, but I was never holding much hope for this cycle anyway (I don't feel pg, if that makes sense?).

Hope af comes soon so can start fresh with new cycle! I have ordered some conceive plus and will start charting CM too. Wondering if it's worth using a digital opk, or if temping is better? Or use both? Any words of wisdom?

Good luck to all POAS, hugs to any bfn, but let's all remember (even me!) that it's not over until af shows her red face. X

kurama · 02/07/2014 08:28

Morning all sorry for the bfns but you are not out yet!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/07/2014 09:06

Sounds great notoasthere, I wish we'd had something like that when I had ds1 but not sure it'd be taken up by many here!

spinningirl10 · 02/07/2014 09:10

Sorry for bfn's, I hate that missing line!

Mamapo, a lot of us use opks to pinpoint ov. I didn't use them at first but when I did I found out that I ov earlier than I thought so they've been good for me. I use ic's from amazon, they're really cheap. When the line gets darker I use a cb test and it shows a smiley face when positive so it backs up the other test Grin

Cpt1sock · 02/07/2014 09:19

Could anyone recommend a good book on fertility/conception, would like something that isn't purely written scientifically. Any suggestions please? I'm looking at the impatient women's guide to getting pregnant (might not be 100% right with the name) anyone read it?

Thanks xx

FoscarC · 02/07/2014 09:27

Right, I have had a chance to sit down and read all the posts properly from the last couple of days now. SO much still going on.

MrsExtra, thank you for those very wise words. They are important to remember and you put it across so beautifully.

Sparkle, welcome and good luck to you.

Bluesky - please someone correct me if I am wrong as I do not know much, if anything, about this. But when I got concerned about the effects of pregnacare I looked in to it and I think that it can extend your luteal phase. I think it is because of the B6 in it. I used it anyway.

notoast I sympathise with the tiredness. Must get an early night tonight. Although I feel better this week than last. Last week I was in bed by 9.30 at the latest. Good luck with the breastfeeding group. Sounds awesome, well done you.

MaMaPo, I am also clueless about conception etc. What we did was both took pregnacare, me the original and my DH the pregnanacre for men. We went on honeymoon and DTD every day for 3 weeks, from CD7 to CD21. I am well aware that this is un realistic in 'normal life', and we certainly are not that active normally. But as I said before, we had nothing to do apart from eat and sleep and DTD. And so we did it alot. And it was not a chore in any way. We were not doing it for conception, but purely for fun. And we were both drinking but not to excess. I tested 16dpo (i only waited that long as DH was away and wanted him to be around when I tested), and we got a BFP. So that is what we did. No OPKs, no temping, but I had been tracking my period and what I thought was when I ov'd for about 8 months prior. I did not have a very regular cycle. Anything from 26 to 34 days.

tryinghard, try not to give up hope until af comes. The morning i got my BFP I thought I was starting my period, I cried and looked at myself in the mirror and said 'you are useless' and other such horrid things. And it turns out I was not getting af, and I was probably crying so much and getting so stressed because of all the hormones.

cinnamon how many dpo are you now? Don't give up until af comes.

Spinning good luck with your opk.

Cpt, pleased you are feeling more positive. and yes!!! Do lots and lots of DTD and enjoy it.

Nordic, I am sorry but I do not know what a cd is. But I think having a negative must not be good, so I am sorry. Fx it gets better. And again, no af still means there is hope. I really am sending you my most positive thoughts and hugs.

Brixton, I hope af stays away and you get your bfp!

Well, that is all from me. I have nurse appt in a couple of hours and I am a little very very nervous. I keep thinking she will just tell me I imagined it all and that there is no baby at all. I feel fine and quite normal still. Apart from a bit tired. And I burp a lot. And I am constipated. All lovely sexy things!! Good job I am not trying to DTD every day anymore!

Have a lovely day every one. SOrry for the massive post. Good luck to everyone.xx

BrixtonBunny · 02/07/2014 09:29

Cpt I've just ordered "taking charge of your fertility" apparently it's very good (I've heard the impatient woman one is very American)

Foscar enjoy your appointment and let us know what they say! Grin

FoscarC · 02/07/2014 09:31

Cpt i think there is one called Taking Charge of Your Fertility that is meant to be good. My friend uses it to try and not get pg as she uses rhythm method, and she is always talking about it and recommending it, but I have not read it at all.

roastpots · 02/07/2014 09:58

Hi ladies, Can I join you? I've just finished AF so hoping for a BFP towards the end of the month (cycle totally unpredictable so no specific date) Age 35, TTC#2, Cycle 2, BFP end of July. Cpt another vote here for Taking Charge of Your Fertility - I read it when ttc dd1 and found it really useful (was pregnant the next month!)

Rainbow555 · 02/07/2014 10:09

roastpots that sounds like a good vote for the book! I looked in my local bookstore but I didn't really find anything that looked useful, all about pregnany rather than ttc!

Sorry to those who have bfn but until af comes.....

Watching OBEM and wondering if there is a little bfp in there..fx! Few more days to wait yet though.

Echoing those thoughts from others (*treacle and kitty maybe) about wanting a bfp and hoping it is but fully expecting to be disappointed when testing..it's a weird mix of emotions huh!

JaneyTea · 02/07/2014 10:30

Morning everyone.

Struggling a bit here today. I'm CD10 and feeling equally impatient and terrified about the approach of my fertile window. Brain feels brimful of questions and what-ifs and a general panic about not having control over the situation. My intentions of being a picture of calmness and the mantra of "I trust in my body to do this" is becoming somewhat wonky already.....

Rainbow555 · 02/07/2014 10:40

It's ok janeytea we all start with the same good intentions!!

It seems my ovia app has crashed Shock gah! technology sucks when it breaks!
And am suddenly freaking out that af might be coming, cd22 here and af has come on cd24 before! So I was thinking I had ages and now I am convincing myself otherwise and af is coming! Argh my mind is driving me mad!
Breatheeeee
Can't do anything about it so need to chill!

spinningirl10 · 02/07/2014 10:52

Rainbow, just checked my ovia app and its fine, hate it when they crash!

Ladies, I've just been having a nosey at the penis dragon AN thread and they've started a private fb group. Just wondering if we should start one? I know that when we get our bfps we move on but we could remove ourselves then and some of us have been on the buses for quite some time so it might be nice. What do you all think, are you just happier to keep identities private here? Just to add I have no idea how to set up such a groupGrin

tryinghard2 · 02/07/2014 10:55

thanks Foscar - I think I am thinking it'd be better to start being a bit down about it now so it won't be such a massive disappointing test - wow I am learning a lot about my personality doing this! Agree with you Rainbow555 - I keep thinking 'if af is coming come now...or if its not, don't' makes absolutely no sense at all!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 02/07/2014 10:59

Oooooooo I've got the rage today! AngryAngry And had full on waterworks! SadSad Aunt Flo is likely to be around he corner now isn't she! I'd officially like to tell my hormones to fuck off! How dare you make me feel so rubbish! Wink

BrixtonBunny · 02/07/2014 11:00

Oh mrsE sorry you feel so rubbish xx

MrsExtraOrdinary · 02/07/2014 11:01

Thanks Brixton. I suffer just a tad with pms! Blush Amazing I never got pnd really.

Siarie · 02/07/2014 11:03

Hello ladies,

I'm super excited to now be able to enjoy and join in on the bus fully. Congratulations to all those who have had a BFP already!

I did some OPK's before I came off the pill (sad I know but I wanted to see what would happen) and there was literally no line at all. This morning however, first pill free day there is a OPK line! It's faint but I'm in high spirits that the LH change must mean something, hopefully something good.

MrsExtra It might not be AF, you aren't out until then so try and remain calm. As hard as that is ;)

Aprilray · 02/07/2014 11:17

So, CD22 here and another High from my monitor. Took my temp and it was 37 so I am going with I've ovulated and the monitor missed it - feel like I have skipped the DTD bit and been plonked down in my 2ww. I am going to assume I oved around CD18/19 and call myself 4DPO. Luckily we DTD on CD16 and CD19 so there is hope I guess but feel like we've not given it our best shot and was so grumpy with DH last night.

Laurano my acupuncture was really good last night, thanks for asking. I was feeling really tired before but so much better after Smile

Cpt I have read 'the impatient women's guide to getting pregnant', it is very American but I really enjoyed it. I also read 'the baby making bible' which I found really helpful, it's quite hard to explain without going on a bit but worth having a look at the reviews on Amazon.
Ooh, I am going to have a look at 'taking charge of your fertility'.

FoscarC · 02/07/2014 12:44

MrsExtra i flipped out more than I probably ever have in my life on Saturday, and cried all day Sunday. I do hope it is not af and more pg hormones, but I know you know your body. But still fx for you.

welcome roastpots and the best of luck for you.

Janeytea, I think we are all exactly the same. Me and my dh said we were not going to 'try', we would just stop 'not trying'. Well, that was a load of nonsense!!! as soon as i got into my 2ww i became obsessive!! And slightly mental.

rainbow, Fx for you.

So, I went to see the nurse and was really hopeful she would answer some of my questions, but she didn't really. And then i almost burst into tears - I did not and managed to keep a smile on my face, but I am clearly a bag of hormones. She took my BP and checked my wee for protein and infection and did another pg test, and I am still pregnant (my biggest worry was that i was in some sort of weird delusion). i just slightly freaked out as I know nothing. I went to see my sister last night who had her second baby on Sunday and she was telling me all about the birth and all this baby 'stuff' and i know literally nothing. so now I am just sat here thinking what on earth am i doing!!!! Midwife is apparently going to get in touch over the next few days and she will give me lots of things to read. That will make me happier, i like having information!!!

FoscarC · 02/07/2014 12:46

Oh, and I have ordered 'what to expect when you are expecting' so that may help me.

ALso, someone mentioned the bfps leaving the bus - do we have to go?? Or can we stay and chat?
