It has been 42 days since my last period, I am not exactly what you would call regular but certainly never ever this long. I have done 2 tests and both are BFN. Any ideas, the first test I did was last Friday and I did another yesterday. Should I leave and try again or go to the doctors. Is there anyone else in this situation.

Have you had late periods before?

emmsie123 · 07/09/2006 21:35

No not like this, maximum would be 35 days, I keep thinking AF is coming but nothing.

And how long have you been trying to conceive?

emmsie123 · 07/09/2006 21:44

this is only the first month, but have not been on the pill since my son was born and he is twenty months. I am worried in case there is something wrong with me.

Don't panic - its only your first month and you're probably stressing yourself out! Thats probably why your period is late. I went nine months without a period once - and it wasn't because I was pregnant! How long did it take you to conceive your son?

about 4 months but i had come off the pill so my periods needed to settle down a bit. I am sure AF will come when its ready. How long have you been ttc?

I'm not at the moment but it took me nearly 5 years to conceive my daughter, but I have polycystic ovaries. You need to give yourself a few months of trying and keep track of your periods. If nothing happens then, ask your doctor about it and he/she'll probably take some blood to check your hormone levels... Its early days yet! I bet AF will have appeared by tomorrow!

Thanks for your advise, I feel better about things now. I will just see what happens and keep on trying.
